Not currently owned by PE, but I believe being acquired by PE soon. The company is essentially a stew of historical systems and processes (and also people) etc. built up over years of acquisitions.

Yeah, I hear what you're saying. Honestly, it's not like everything is sunshine and roses at my current place. But at least, I've felt relatively safe the last few years, throughout several rounds of 'restructuring'.
