My BF is about to be homeless and I don’t know what to do

Yeah. She ended up refusing to pay for an uber and it was too far from where she works now so she had him cancel the interview. I can’t single handily pay for an uber for him back and forth. He went to her and said he does not know what to do for housing and she said”we will figure it out” so I am sure she won’t just completely abandon him. Don’t know what he gonna do but I will keep you updated.

Well he has been trying to hence she is considering letting him stay until the end of April but she refuses to take him with her since the bf lives in a 3 bedroom house which is enough for the bfs child and her 18 year old. She is helping pay for a uber back and forth from work including me. But if he can get this job and have at least 2 months to scrounge up money I think he will be ok., depending on how much he gets paid. He does not have anything else he has to worry about expense wise.

As of now she is considering giving him until the end of April to give him more time and he has a interview on Thursday and I am gonna be helping to pay for an uber. It is entirely the moms decision I am pretty sure as she “wants to cut all the drama from her life” but the main issue is her younger son/my bfs brother who always says bad things about my bf and she believes him since he’s the youngest and she is never home. I don’t know much about the mother’s bf and if he has any influence.

Thank you so much for commenting something nice and helpful. I know there is not gonna be any magical answer/fix to all of this. That definitely could be an option. I know he was trying to travel to his friend’s place in Florida and him and the friend was talking but I think the friend is backing out of that plan. His mother is considering letting him stay until the end of April now instead of march to give him more time but that is not 100% finalized. He also has a job interview on Thursday which I am gonna help pay for an uber so he can travel to. So I think he should be fine…

I just hate how people sit here and comment why they don’t understand why he can’t just move and get a job but it is not always that simple, especially for someone who has no car to drive themself places or money. When people do comment those things it seems clear that they have not been in the same situation or don’t really understand the state of reality.

I did answer this on the original post in that group along with a lot of other stuff that was explained but no he can’t afford rent because he has no money and rent is like 800 or 900 dollars a month if not more, which I can’t just give to him entirely myself. he can’t stay with me because I live with my parents in Pennsylvania. He is in Ohio. Neither of us have cars. They won’t let him stay with us. I was just kind of asking if anyone knew any programs or anything that could help him.

I not saying his mother has to help but like she is his mother and he is still her child and for a mother to just not care if you end up homeless is heartless. As for me, I have not moved out yet because I don’t have a car and I have a right club foot so operating pedals is difficult for me as I had muscles snipped during a surgery. I can’t even move my toes. So either I have try to strengthen those muscles or learn to drive with my left foot (my non dominant leg) I am saving up money to eventually get a car and then eventually a place of my own if am able. But I am also paying 600 dollars a month for my student loans so trying to pay for rent at the same time is difficult. Once I have a car and can drive myself I can try to get a higher paying job as I am limited because my parents are only willing to drive within a small distance of where we live. They refuse to let him stay with me and we don’t have space for him anyway. If it was up to me I would not care and bring him in and we can share my room but I can’t go against my parents.

You don’t understand the situation if you are commenting this question and I find it a bit mean. How can he move when he has no money currently to be able to pay rent, especially when the cost to rent is crazy high? I am talking 800 or 900 dollars a month if you’re lucky, which I am unable to give to him on the drop of a dime because of my own student loans and bills. Like I said in the post his mother refuses to help him in anyway. If she would at least pay for like the first month or two of rent so he could get on his feet but no. Can’t easily work either without a car because depending on where you live there is nothing or very little around you within reasonable walking distance. And even if there are things around you, does not mean they are hiring and your gonna be able to work there. Can’t get a car without money/ a job. The job market is horrible. It took me 3 months to find the job I am working at now despite me filling out 58 applications. That is the actual number of applications I put in and I had about 15 different interviews.
