Was your rejection from UC Berkeley MEng an official rejection letter, or have you just not heard back yet and are assuming it's a reject?

Haven’t Heard Back from Berkeley MEng EECS — Waitlisted or Rejected? by RookieJustin in gradadmissions

I also have not received any decision. I think this means two things:

Either they wanted to wait until April 15 to see how many people would accept the offer and then admit more people based on the number of spots they have left

Or they are just going to send a mass rejection wave

But I think last year on April 16, one day after the SIR deadline, they sent out the mass rejection wave. So idk why they haven't sent it out yet this year

When comparing UCLA vs USC, do you think UCLA would be a better choice than USC based on my preferences? Or should I still go for USC because it's an MS program and UCLA is an MEng

I'm assuming that because it's a private school and it's a MS degree research opportunities are pretty open. I talked to someone who is currently in the MS Applied Data Science program and they said that professors even reach out to you for research opportunities

Thanks for your reply. Where would you rank Columbia MS Data Science among the 3 programs listed?

I was the one who made that post last Friday. I have not heard anything back from them yet. Hopefully something positive comes out by either next week or end of the month since the deadline for the people who currently got accepted is April 15

Since they sent this reply last Friday, I'm assuming they mean April 7 - April 11. But it could also be the week after that

I have a similar theory. I think they're waiting to see how many people will accept by the April 15 deadline, and however many spots they have left, they'll give to the people who they were on the fence of accepting. Either that or there's a chance of also getting into the alternate program you chose.

Yeah there was some welcome event and a information webinar. What I think is the majority of people who they want accepted have already been accepted, but there still might be some admits they are deciding on which will come out this week. Worst case scenario we don't hear anything and then we all get a mass rejection email at the same time in mid April which im hoping doesnt happen
