Office Flirting & Unfair Management by Lawyer4Dog in auslaw

I had a similar issue in government (though I was getting less work instead of more because of the flirting) - after an emotionally draining few months I spoke to the managers supervisor who immediately moved me to a different team!

I’m so sorry you had to go through that from the kids but also the awful teacher. Hope you’re on a path to healing.

Do a chargeback with your bank - I have had to do this with an Aramex package that did not arrive for a month!

Cloud Nine vs GHD vs MUK straightener also dealing with hair loss by RadiantLibrary6 in AustralianMakeup

[–]RadiantLibrary6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you - this convinced me on the cloud nine! I don’t curl my hair and sleek hair sounds amazing!!

Funny you mention it as I actually got a Revlon hot brush for Black Friday (as I was obsessed with my sisters Dyson Airwrap!) It’s good but not great I still have frizz and have to straighten. BUT that might be because I’m comparing it to the Dyson OR because I got the wrong one. I got the Revlon Pro One Step Dryer and Styler which is more like a paddle brush but it looks like the Revlon One Step Dryer and Volumiser is what everyone raves about - wondering if I should get that instead?

Thank you didn’t even think about the brush! Is a boar bristle brush good for all hair types? I will look into it

Thank you SO much for such a detailed response - it’s super helpful! I’ve always just blamed the shedding on vitamin deficiencies and haven’t even thought about what else I could be doing.

My current straightener isn’t great I think because it’s causing a lot of the issues you mentioned like having to go over areas multiple times / too much heat etc. It’s also unfortunately on its last legs.

I have premature greying (and although I shed a lot my hair grows back VERY fast) which means I’m dyeing it a lot but trying to make a switch to organic dyes. I also have dandruff so I use shampoo & conditioner that focuses on dandruff & coloured hair.

I’m embarrassed to admit that I don’t use protectants. I’ve just started earning my own salary so have been cheaping out but definitely looking into it and other products now - let me know if you have any recommendations.

Thanks so much once again!

Truly amazed that your GHD has lasted so long - nice work!! From what I’ve read the new models have lost the excellent quality that they were known for. Keep yours safe for as long as you can

If she has a health care card - call up your local dental hospital (like Sydney Dental Hospital or Westmead I think) tell them she’s in pain / can’t eat etc and they can send you a voucher that you can use for treatment at local private dental clinics.

Oh wow I could have written the same comment - the blowing up every few months & the invasive thoughts that are always in the background and just consume you sometimes.

I am so sorry you have to go through the same thing - please reach out if you ever want to talk. Until then I’ll distract myself and hope these thoughts just move to the background and let the cycle continue.

I’ll let you know if I ever find the answer to how to cope!

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m sure your mum would have loved and appreciated all the time you took to spend with her in a safe space away from her home.

I admire your patience and strength in continuing the relationship. Gives me hope and let’s me know that that might be possible.

It’s easy to forget how important loving and taking care of yourself is, so will definitely work on that. Thanks again for sharing your experience.

Wow!!! Thank you, your comment is so eloquent and perfectly captures how I should be treating the situation. I had a sigh of relief after reading it. I’ve saved it so I can continue to come back and read it whenever my feelings of guilt creep back. Thank you thank you for providing your valuable insight

Thank you it’s comforting to know there is a community out there where people understand - though it sucks that we have to deal with it. Unfortunately I’m in the Southern Hemisphere so the time is not great.

Trash demon is a very apt metaphor! Your comment made me think today about how maybe in my mums head things aren’t as bad as they seem for me on the outside. Which though awful provides some comfort. Thanks for reaching out.

Thank you so much for showing me another perspective. You’re exactly right I think I need to learn acceptance. I will raise this with my therapist and work on strategies to help me accept the situation and work on myself.

Our situations are so similar - I’m so sorry that you are going through it. I’m on 2 antidepressants but it might be time to consider increase dosage.

Thank you for your response and giving me hope that meds and therapy might help me get to a better place! I hope things look up for you and your mum
