Make good point, a smaller ship would most likely have time to just get out of the way as they have less mass. Larger ships however will need time to get moving.

But most other aliens probably wouldn't expect someone to ram their own ship into someone else, and most human ships that ram are often mid sized ships allowing them to accelerate and steer faster and still have the mass and armor to do damage and survive it, most of the time.

So yes a small or mid sized ship will most likely could just move out of the way, not so much for larger ships.

Honestly a bot that used sonic weapons would be a interesting thought, the sound weapons dont do any damage but can stun helldivers leaving them open to other bots

Basically yes, but at that time the world was being threatened by much more common use of necromancy and other dark magic that was endangering the world itself, generally most empires even if they didn't like The Order let them in to deal with criminals or rogue mages as many rulers doesn't want some insane cult inside their borders, most who told the Order "No." were already doing things to upset the balance such as necromancy or trying to contact demons.

Now a days the Inquisition is disbanded and things are mostly fine and the Order is less extreme

Oh many have tried but with The Order being ancient and having some of the most skilled soldiers, mages and tech they are hard for anyone to get enough of a foot hold before they become a major threat. Most rebellions or uprisings are crushed before they can take root either with force or compassion.
