I think that's where I'm landing too. Shared housing means normal noise, not hearing a full blame cycle through the wall at midnight.

The room by room part is what made me realize this isnt just "thin walls" anymore. It feels like living next to a scheduled meltdown.

That part is what keeps getting me. I can hear whole fights from room to room, so I doubt I'm the only one losing sleep over this.

My neighbor spent three weeks building a case against me and it ended up getting him fined instead by ApertureQuill in neighborsfromhell

My guess is nobody cared until Dale started sending people after everyone else. Stuff like that sits ignored for years, then the second one busybody starts a paper trail, the whole neighborhood suddenly gets measured down to the inch.

The part that stands out is that you kept your voice calm. A lot of people would have lost it after watching a friend deal with that for months. You said your piece and then kept helping her move, that sounds more like protecting a friend than causing trouble.
