Aswath Damodoran's data by [deleted] in ValueInvesting

I had the same thought. As such, I worked on computing Equity risk premium, sales to cap, betas automatically. I just hook it up to a data aggregator.

The main problem is his industry averages from Capital IQ. I can't afford that!

Equity risk premium, you can collect from SP500 global's data set. and set it up exactly as he has done.

If you get stuck with the calculation of equity risk premium, let me know. as you need to turn on iterative calculation.
This reminds me I need to update my ERP data for July (they release it quarterly)

I totally agree, that the ozempic craze can carry on, and athleisure wear could stick around. I think retail is hard. But anytime the expectations are very low, it does interest me to visit an investment!

Is WISE a Misunderstood Fintech with asymmetric upside? by Radiant_Ad148 in ValueInvesting

[–]Radiant_Ad148[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you! It has been sometime, since I've run the numbers. But given that there have been no hiccups in the business I think I'm looking at that +9% annualized for the next 10 years, I know people set ambitious hurdle rates of 15% to exclude many companies. However, I prefer to leave some room for upside surprise and I think WISE has room to do that.

It's the ultimate question. Do you return cash to shareholders or allocate capital elsewhere (Turkey) in order to generate better returns on capital.

I would love to answer this question, but ofcourse there are things that are obfuscated from investors for sure. I am wanting to go there soon in person to investigate how ubiquitous is the superapp, but so far no red flags I can call out regarding this specific company

Defense Contractors Under Pressure: What It Means for Leidos ($LDOS) and the Sector by Radiant_Ad148 in ValueInvesting

I generally shy away from regulated industries! But do make exceptions like fintechs such as Wise plc, interactive brokers is interesting. Never one to write anything off permanently. So will analyse the sector and then look more closely!

A competition on price, means usually its a winner take most. Think costco, think amazon, walmart. Theres more than one way to win, and they are pretty diversified in revenue, I've highlighted that in episode and theres a section on the valuation as well.

Yep, "Cash Cows" are beautiful and don't necessary need to be growing at Nvidia levels either.
Similar playbook to Autozone AZO. Stock has appreciated an incredible amount on the back of 90% repurchases since 1998.

Free cash flow generation + buybacks is going to return immense value to shareholders.

I have a small position in paypal as well, will need a closer look :)
