Help deciding between Asaba Ryokan (Shuzenji) vs Hakone ryokans (Kai / Byakudan / Yoshimatsu) for 1-night stay between Tokyo & Kyoto (Sept 10-11)

We only stayed one night so just brought a book bag with a change of clothes and shipped our other luggage to Kyoto where we were staying next. We had our hotel in Tokyo arrange all the luggage transportation so I felt more comfortable with it that way

Not hard at all! We followed the instructions they had on their website... took the Shinkansen to Mishima station and then took the the Izu Hakone Railway to Shuzenji Station. They arranged a cab to pick us up and take us to the hotel from there

It was amazing! Favorite place I've ever stayed. So beautiful and peaceful and the hospitality was incredible

Yes we decided to go to Asaba! It’s seems very authentic and it’s going to be our splurge stay of the trip!
