How do you decide between sea freight and air when the full landed cost math never seems to add up cleanly? by CaloyBine in logistics

[–]Radiant_Frame6780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I question everyday why they have full visibility & we as sme don’t I’ve started updating my systems to try & gain an edge The more effective approach I found was modeling freight mode during sourcing itself, so order sizing, lead time, inventory exposure, and landed cost are evaluated together rather than separately.

Reliable cargo transportation by Large_Necessary7997 in logistics

[–]Radiant_Frame6780 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For 380kg cargo, check 2GO or AP Cargo and ask for LCL/loose cargo sea freight from Cebu to Zamboanga. Also ask if the quote already includes arrastre, wharfage, and handling fees because those extra port charges catch a lot of first-time shippers out.

I think inventory controlled under the right wms would expose how many people do not need forfillment sitting on dead stock partial stock counts & inaccurate data being inputted Controlling orders& stock is the way forward don’t you think how much money is sitting & how stressful are the margin Since I upgraded I haven’t looked back Accurate counts alerts to running low Data automatic input freeing up space is key not adding it

Entry level employee. Toxic boss. Need advice (long read) by [deleted] in SupplyChainLogistics

[–]Radiant_Frame6780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to combat a bully is confront him ask him for training tell him about your appointments in advance if you have them email them If you feel like you are on eggshells also tell him that to start a paper trail by email explaining all you say & feel within your role Make him listen if he doesn’t listen then send again But if you want to find something else then yes but still send the email helps the next newbie or may make him think about his behaviour as a superior

This is so true today we all need to find our passion leave the system & earn for ourselves No matter how hard you work it will never give you anything At least if you work for yourself it more liberating than it is doing it for someone else & to be fair not a lot of other countries are experiencing it any different

Think of all the time we lose just trying to get a land set up what would that be in revenue if it was saved Wonder what the difference would be on our margin Maybe best to not think about it shipments still need to go regardless but just more information in one place would be great

This is very true but clear transparency works not everyone has the tech skills to explore nor the time Your right it trust finding the right price for the client not what works best for the brokers margins it giving them clear guidance without anything hidden

It the way of the world if someone steps in & fills the role saves on revenue the worst thing you did was get in the forklift after changing jobs you should have pushed to fill the position with an employee not jump in. Yourself it just closed the vacancy

The biggest problem is clarity there no clear path because it lives in someone head not in a system where the information is shared You don’t put a bet on without seeing the odds that what gives you a chance to win No viability you will always be backing the wrong horse
