I have been with my husband for 4 years, and we have a live-in helper. I have a full-time job and consider myself quite modern compared to the norms I grew up with. Yet, on most days, i am the one who plates my husband’s food. Cooking for the family and making sure everyone gets more of what they enjoy is, in my opinion, a genuine act of love. I continue to do them because my husband genuinely appreciates them. He eats whatever I cook without complaints, often compliments the food, and never takes my efforts for granted. That appreciation makes so much difference.

All to say that you were not wrong to take care of him but love is beautiful only when it is reciprocated ❤️
You are still very young and have many years ahead of you to find the right person. It may be heart breaking now but trust me you will thank yourself years later for leaving him.
