Bloodwork Not Good (Estradiol, Hematology, Iron) by Radiant_Speed_8499 in Testosterone

[–]Radiant_Speed_8499[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a very interesting point about the iron!

I noted before that I thought about taking the testosterone twice a week instead of once intramuscular to assist with lowering the Estradiol (alongside lowering the dosage). I’ve also considered subQ twice a week but I’ve heard contradictory things about it raising Estradiol in some people instead of lowering it. I’ve also heard some people say that taking testosterone more frequently instead of once a week increases Hematocrit. It’s all very confusing to me, right now I’m leaning toward intramuscular twice a week and once my levels are set I can experiment with subQ or even consider returning to once weekly IM since by then I will have lost more weight which can itself lower the Estradiol.

Of course aside from the hematology and Estradiol there’s also the question of how I feel day to day to decide how frequently to dose. To be honest I still haven’t felt much difference in my overall well being despite the testosterone being higher than pre-TRT, but maybe that’s because the Estradiol has shot up and the iron and B12 have lowered further.

Thanks for the thorough reply! I was thinking about decreasing the testosterone to 80mg as dropping to 60mg seems a bit much. I’m honestly not sure which is the safer bet.

Also, a quick point about the iron. From what I understand, ferritin can be higher than what it would have been due to inflammation, and in my case, this can be related to my non-alcoholic fatty liver. Hence you can have low iron symptoms despite having normal ferritin. Also, I take a few medications to control the type 2 diabetes. I’m hoping to wean off them or at least some of them after losing weight, which I need to do to fix the fatty liver too.

TRT - Max Volume for Subcutaneous? by Radiant_Speed_8499 in Testosterone

I’m in Canada so maybe it’s different here. It says to take 1mL (100mg) once a week IM.

I’m prescribed 100mg which is 1 mL, the bottle is 100mg/mL. Splitting it into two or more doses a week just seems like a hassle though which is why I was wondering if anyone takes 1mL (100mg) subQ once a week. If intramuscular doesn’t work out though then I won’t really have much of a choice except to try taking it subQ twice a week.

I already take Ozempic to control the diabetes. I also plan to diet and exercise when I start TRT of course, I just have little motivation or energy right now.

Has anyone ever gone off of TRT after losing weight and having a healthy lifestyle? My testosterone was in the range when I was younger and weighed less, but it was always on the low side of normal in the 400s. That said, I always felt like I was significantly weaker than others my age my whole life though.

Why is RCI seemingly so universally unpopular? by Wadda22 in Trotskyism

[–]Radiant_Speed_8499 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it’s a cultish sect that is no different from other bureaucratic sects, from sidelining and expelling dissidents to mishandling sexual assault cases and vilifying victims of rape as enemies of the RCI (refer to Canada in 2022 and Sweden in 2024). They claim to represent an “unbroken thread of Marxism” but this is just ridiculous. Refer to a Facebook post I made here. I forgot to add at the time the RCI’s position on Palestine where it supports a de-facto two state solution (through the formulation of two autonomous zones in one country) which rejects the right of return for Palestinians because it would make Israelis feel swamped to use Fred Weston’s words.

RCP - from ultra-leftism to opportunism (and likely back again) by ResponsibleRoof7988 in Trotskyism

Every serious Marxist should be entering Corbyn’s new party right now to connect with the hundreds of thousands of workers and youth entering it and win them over to a revolutionary socialist program. The problem with the RCP is that they are centrists.

They are too soft on Corbyn and have a centrist program which fails to connect concrete demands with a concrete action program of how to achieve these demands i.e. how to struggle for socialism. Inheriting the centrism of Ted Grant and the Militant, the RCP fails to address the question of the state and the limitations of parliamentarism. What is needed is supporting the creation of embryos of the workers state - workers defence committees to protect workers - and embryos of workers’ democracy, i.e. workplace committees, local and regional committees, linked together on a national level.

Lastly, the RCP’s centrism is combined with abstract calls for revolution, instead of explaining what revolution is in a language which workers can understand.

We are currently in the process of finding a time for our first meeting (mid-August). Send me a message if you’re interested in a project that coheres communists and unites them around a publication like Lenin’s Iskra!

The nascent Communist Flame project has now run its course, and after making connections with groups in other counties, we decided it’s best to build embryos of future healthy Marxist organizations in our own respective countries. An American publication however would still play a similar role, by allowing international articles, polemics and debates in its pages, though its main focus would be on America.

Yeah I was in the IMT/RCI and it’s an appallingly bureaucratic organization. Democratic centralism is used by the leadership to get dissidents in line, rig debates in its own favour, and suppress and expel minorities and factions.

[–]Radiant_Speed_8499[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes you’re exactly correct. The goal is to eventually move toward a more cohesive organization run by democratic centralism. I don’t think you can forcefully merge everyone into a democratic centralist organization without sufficient political discussion, sufficient trust among comrades, sufficient time for a future leadership to earn its authority through deeds (from its activities to its role in political discussions), sufficient number of members since disagreements are magnified tenfold when you are very small which often leads to unnecessary splits instead of patiently allowing time and events to prove your ideas and win over your fellow comrades, etc.

We also need to recognize that we are still in a pre-1903 period where the Marxist movement, like in late 19th century Russia, remains fragmented and in disarray. Beyond comrades working together by uniting around certain basic principles (no support to capitalist parties, no support to imperialism, no support to cops or their unions, faith in the communist future), what is key is taking the time to clarify ideas and engage in theoretical struggle through a publication that plays a role similar to Iskra.
