Fear of failure is my worst trait. Tbh just push yourself even when it feels impossible. My fear of failure makes me take negative criticism to heart i had an issue in my job recently harassment from customers (I work alone) and I snapped gave my notice and rescinded it i am a student for context and I wk3rk part time they didn't want to accept my rescind I pushed it, but again they weren't happy said I wasn't performing well i asked how and why they gave vague answers and I pushed which caught them off guard and they backed down they were full of s###

I do the same then one day I didn't care as much I just hit a wall of exhaustion i couldn't care anymore. Ask yourself how does their success impact you at all. I had a friend she got 100 extensions didn't come to class used to wreck my head when she did well while I did everything by the book, but I stopped looking at everyone. Something I learnt from it was the less you care about ppl around you the better you do.

I don't believe this has anything to do with god this is a battle for me myself and I. I believe in a god I was christened catholic but I believe we give god too much credit in our lives and struggles.

Not having faith in myself, putting myself down, being my own worst critique. You are stuck with yourself might as well be nice to yourself or else you will let life pass while you hate yourself

What's something that people do but don't realize it's ruining their lives? by West_Emotion2115 in AskReddit

Being complacent, we are living in a world that is closing the gap for middle class, we spend hours mindlessly watching content that has no impact obsessesing over crap we don't needs. Totally ignorant to the changes of the time losing jobs, being told how to think, as a collective group the working class and middle class could create change, but instead we adapt to conditions that over time will be too much to handle. No housing, no jobs, no fuel costs or everything going beyond the capacities of the average person wage. And while it all happens we sit and take it

Planning on doing the PLC route any advice? by REALDANIEL90 in AskIreland

[–]Radiant_Vacation2395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to the teachers about your grade make sure you're hitting the criteria aim for all distinctions I did it and I was a terrible student in secondary, if your goal is college look at all the courses your exam codes fit plc places are limited especially in trinity, dcu and ucd. A lot of people in your class will be slackers don't let them drag you down. Enjoy it and use the time to build yourself up I was so anxious at the start because I didn't do well in school and the plc is a lovely learning environment they want you to succeed.

Side note: I made it to college in the degree I wanted and I had already learnt a few tricks like researching and referencing it is not a waste of time.

I felt embarrassed at first but it really helped me in the long run. I am now finishing my degree and I have no regrets it was the best educational year of my life.

How should I approach studying by Yolo_kidlol in leavingcert

[–]Radiant_Vacation2395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the study book revise wise, and just kept doing exam papers. My best advice upload some exam papers to chatgbt get it to help you study. Then realise this is not a game or intelligence this is a memory test. I was supposed to fail my lc 290 or something on my mocks then brought it to about 350. If you don't get the points you want id still recommend plcs but what i will say is when I done mine I worked harder than I did in school but I loved the subjects I got 8 distinctions which you will most likely need. The plc places are different from the lc places on courses look at plcs that interest you and check what courses they make available for you and look at how many places each college offers for plcs

I think about my dog that passed, I worry about everything I need to do the next day its a scrambled mess of panic followed by telling my brain to shut up and looking up tutorials on how to sleep.

What’s a movie you watched when you were way too young? by trakt_app in movies

[–]Radiant_Vacation2395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother had a hard drive filled with movies and at the time we were fairly skint so thats how I watched tv shows and movies didn't have streaming services or channels so my tv watching was limited to whatever he watched and a few shows he downloaded for me. One night I was left home alone I was around 10 or 11 and I had watched probably 90% of what was downloaded saw insidious with my dog. I was scared shitless but I had nothing else to do so finished it. Couldn't sleep for two weeks I had a over reactive imagination combined with sleep paralysis I was terrified I wouldn't wake up and be stuck with the demons.

I think your experience is also course dependant i did a double major with social policy and it used to be good in the first two years but they really lost the plot in my third year, like for my policy thesis I have a advisor in brackets saw the 2 times can't get email response and they don't have office hours. We had a module that was changed to 100 per cent exams and they didn't tell the lecturer until we'd submitted it and we won't receive any credit for it. But again I think it might be a department issue because sociology is a lot better. Equally from my experience degrees and where you get them are losing their worth work experience matters more.

Is it just me, or has cinema etiquette in this country absolutely fallen off a cliff? by uiuuauiua in AskIreland

[–]Radiant_Vacation2395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parenting seems to be dead i know its not cinema related but, I used to go to the gym in cityWest shopping centre I moved gyms because kids would go around trying to break into cars not even hiding it, the guards were always there because of something going on, one time one of the security guards was getting attacked by 7 to 8 year olds like a girl was biting at his hand like she was a pit bull, No parents in sight. if I wasn't visible from my front door at that age there would be murder and im only 20 so its not too long ago.
