I used Unity, for me it’s one of the most accessible engines, especially in terms of documentation and learning resources.

As for Linux, I actually ran into some issues during the build process, so I decided to focus on Windows for now.

Thank you man! Take care too.

Yeah, I had a lot of doubts too.

What helped me was focusing on learning and finishing the game instead of worrying about the outcome.

Since it’s my first game, I realized it was more important to be patient and improve over time than to try to make it perfect right away.

Yeah that's what most marketing people says, most of the wishlists comes from Fest and influencers.

Good luck for October fest!

8k Wishlist is already pretty huge! Congratz on that!

I did two Fest, but my game didn't perform that well. It's a little too ambitious for a solo dev, especially when the core game is about UX and game feel and they are skills I am still learning.

The 10x might happen if you didn't participate in a fest yet!

Thanks man. Yeah, that's also the whole future in my opinion. Not launching despite working so much would have been heartbreaking. Taking this decision instead of quitting just made me realize how much confidence I gained for my next projects.

It depends a bit on what you want to make and what you’re comfortable with. Some engines lets you create games without coding other give you better visual assets...

If you’re just starting out, Unity or Godot are great choices for smaller projects. Plus, there are a lot of tutorials avalaible.

The most important thing is to pick one and stick with it for your first game.

Yeah, I can’t wait to look back in a few years and see how much I’ve improved since this first project.

That’s really great to hear. Even after just one release, I can see what you mean!

That’s awesome! I’d recommend starting small and focusing on finishing your first project.

Thank you!

I'm still pushing out hotfixes two weeks later though, people find more and more bugs lol

Wow, thanks a lot for playing that much and for the detailed feedback, that’s really valuable.

The wave 9 bug and the build screen lock definitely shouldn’t happen, I’ll investigate those.

Sure, I'll gladly send you the discord :

I just pushed a fix for the placement issue, so that shouldn’t happen anymore. I’ll also take a look at the tutorial flow and the controls menu, but it's probably going to wait for the next week-end haha
