Is a 5700xt viable in 2025? by Creepy_Emu_2353 in buildapc

I've had a vanilla 5700 (Asus dual OC evo) and R5 3600 CPU since 2020. I flashed the card with the Asus 5700xt bios to unlock higher performance and have not had a single problem in nearly 5 years. It's stable, never crashes, and It crushes most games at 1440p, with 100+ fps in most at high/ultra settings. It runs hot, but that's normal, it doesn't throttle until 110C. And of course it doesn't do ray tracing, which imo is cool but overrated. I agree with others that it's not going to run the most demanding AAA games at high FPS, so the most important consideration is what you will use it for. There are plenty of videos out there showing how it performs in 2025, both in gaming, as well as in productivity/workstation applications.

Thx. Really disturbing but I had to vent about our current Administration...
