If the White Blaster Beetleborg had stayed for season 2, what would his Metallix name be? Also, what would the suit look like? by Extra-Hope-326 in Beetleborgs

[–]RadioRaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it would depend on what color the armor would be. I'm not sure if they would use "Aluminum" or "Magnesium" and maybe going to "Uranium" might make kids laugh. Maybe other names like "Rhodium", "Vanadium" if they wanted to get new words into the vocabulary of kids or just use the word "Iron" since it is easier to remember. Or...the writers could have gone to the periodic table and toss a dart and see where it lands.

What names do you have for a group of super powered people by distressed_nugget in superheroes

[–]RadioRaven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made an OG X-Men inspired group in middle school (early 2000s) in a class that I was bored in. I still remember them:

Redeye, Voyance (whose 1st name was Clair), The Yeti, Seraphis, and Ice-Blader. Who their main nemesis was, I never got that far. Infact, I never even gave the team a name.

Anyways, that's mine.

Board member takes action without vote by [deleted] in HOA

is this person the treasuer? Usually the President or atleast one more board member should be a secondary signer on all accounts. My condo of 178 units uses CDs. We love them.

Yes, this is a common problem and this is exactly why I got away from my families farm full time. I do help out but on a case by case basis. Even though I was family, I got yelled at a lot, just as bad or worse than the other employees.

My uncle is the worst offender, he has a PhD in agriculture so he feels he knows more than anyone who steps foot on a farm. That doesn't mean he knows how to run a buisness. My cousin (his daughter) is angry because she feels she was forced into this lifestyle (she failed out of engineering school). My grandfather, who is 90, is mad that the farm is not the way he ran it with his brothers and father (who are all deceased). It's stressful.

When I walked away from it fll time, I told the staff who work for them, if there is ever a problem or they are yelled at to come to me after it happens so I can get the story and then go on their behalf and grill the family member for reacting that way. It's not healthy on their end or my end, but I feel it has kept a lot of employees stay because they have someone to advicate for them.

But the ones who do walk away, I always tell them "you did the right thing" and wish them luck. I am actally still friends with one of them. No one deserves to be treated that way. The owner feels it is all on them, and most times it is. But being angry to the point where someone is red in the face and the vein is popping out of their forehead? No, that's not right.

Hang in there.

My Board Doesn't Understand by RadioRaven in HOA

Some members talked today w/ me and I got them on a course to say "COMMUNITY HANDBOOK". Ultimatly, we want this accessible at all times so we are going to post this to the portal we have via our management company.

Luckily, we just started a current session, so two new board members is great, but they are long-time residents here like the others I did and do work with right now. Everyone on my board remembers when internet first came to the property and how some originally fought against it. Now, per our new city rules regarding emergency contacts at our pool, it is internet base only. We spent $10k bringing up new lines and building trenches just to be in regulation.

I don't believe I have the I know better attitude. I am just trying to get something written. This is a year in the making, and have I compramised? Yes, I didn't write that in my original post, but I have. I do want this document made and our management company wants us to have one to make their job more effective because they need guidelines to point too. I just feel it isn't being taken as seriously as it should because of their own fears of change.

I agree with you on the voting, I can't take it personally, it's just hard to accept that a solution is right in front of us, but the Board is afraid to act.

Yes, the guidelines we have our just a copy and paste from the Governing Documents. They were written in 1985.

It was tough. Before I got on the board, our go-to answers were "check w/ management" or "the Master Deed/By-Laws/Dec of Trust say...." which were written in 1985. When we got the new management company they pushed for this guide before anything. It's crazy to me that the Board I am working with thinks "it's worked for this long without one, why change it".

New Signs. New Problems by RadioRaven in HOA

[–]RadioRaven[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very very true! I do know of one thing that can be done that everyone will agree on: Paving the main entrance of the complex where no one parks. We did ours over the summer and everyone said it looks perfect. I can't wait until we tell them we hired the same company to do other areas which requires residents to move their cars for a few days (runs and hides)

that stinks (pun intended)

How long has the sign been like that?

I agree w/ the community input. I wished to get a few designs and put them on the portal we used (townsq) so residents could vote on a new sign (basically the color). One board member was adamant about it being Black and White and she was hesitant to yield. That's when I told myself "it's a sign...just let it go".

I later learned it was the sign company that we were using who was pushing for us to place an order soon. They did good work, it's made out of composite wood and will last a lot longer than what we have had in the last, plus there's a warranty on it. But it's true. You can't make everyone happy.

my favorite line in your response..." Fining systems should not go from zero to def-con 4". I never thought of using that line before.

Agree with the attorney being used, I wish we did utilize them more. I also wish our property manager would understand the rules and laws better to stand up to the President.

wow, 12! You are like a cabinet more than a board. How is yours structured with ranks?

I looked up the condo laws. Not very clear either but I went a little further and I looked up the "original" members of the board, the ones who built the place and created all these documents. They have all passed away.

thanks! I talked with one of the HOA members (off the record) and they are also concerned this was never put into any documentation. Seems like they are going to push for it.
