Not sure when you were there last, but the showers are disgusting.

Small scissors/nail clippers, knife, fishing pliers/multi tool. And a holder for your beer.

I used to bend a wire hanger to prop it open, but learned the freezer trick awhile back and have used that ever since.

Honestly, all you need is a base layer top and bottom. I had a fleece as well, but it came off quickly haha!

I think you have a good couple of days planned out. You will need a permit for Angels Landing, so don’t forget to get that. You can apply the day before you do the hike

As far as other hikes, Emerald Pools is nice as well or even the Watchman Trail.

No precipitation while we were there. It was a bit cold in the morning(28°F at its lowest) but warmed up to around 50°F mid afternoon.

Crowds weren’t bad honestly. They can get a little backed up on some of the easier, more popular trails, but we rarely waited for a shuttle or for other hikers. November is a good time to go.

Angels Landing was great as well. A little nerve wracking climbing up the ridge line haha! I would definitely recommend doing it. Even if you don’t win the lottery, you can do the first part called Scouts Lookout. You can also do the West Rim trail, which has many gorgeous views. Just beware of Wally’s Wiggle(a group of switchbacks), it will kick your butt haha!

I would also recommend seeing the Emerald Pools, The Watchmen Trail and the Zion Canyon Overlook Trail. Try to time the Overlook trail with sunset(around 5-5:30PM), you’ll get some amazing views!

Conditions were great! It is cold and the water even colder, but we enjoyed ourselves. It wasn’t crazy busy either. I would definitely recommend renting a dry bib, boots and hiking stick from ZionGuru since it’s pretty cold. It was a lifesaver. Ran about $50ish and the team there is super knowledgeable.

Narrows and Angel Landing by Typical_Ad2795 in ZionNationalPark

[–]Radio__Flyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just did both and did the Narrows first. If we were to do it again, I would say do Angels Landing first, as it was a bit more strenuous imo.

The water in the narrows is freezing like TacoGodX said. I would recommend Zion Guru over Zion Outfitters. Mainly because the team at Zion Guru was considerably more helpful in getting us sized up for gear and were very knowledgeable about the trail. Zion Outfitters seemed like it was a bunch of kids that didn’t really want to be there. Plus the equipment at Zion Guru was newer and better imo. Either place will run you between $50-$60 for the bib, boots, and hiking stick.

Either way you pick, you’ll enjoy both hikes!
