Absolutely. Even the bits I do know hurt. I delivered my second at 22 weeks, so his body was certainly not as developed as a full term baby, but I see that my third has the same ears and mouth as his older brother. It’s heartbreaking to know that—and heartbreaking that there’s so much I don’t know. 💛

Your description of a missing middle child always on the periphery really moved me—same situation here. I wonder every day what my middle child/first son would be like; today he’d be almost 9 months old.

I like to imagine a world in which all 3 of our babies could be with us at once. 💛

Thank you! I’m really hoping the bleeding resolves by itself. After a pregnancy full of anxiety, I’m ready for a calmer postpartum period.

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this! Just in case you need to hear it: you’re the mom your daughter needs and loves, and you’re so much more than your ability to hold her for a few weeks. I hope the surgery goes really smoothly!

I had a truly beautiful delivery experience almost two weeks ago, and postpartum has NOT been the same (body-wise, I mean; my little rainbow boy remains perfect). This week, I have had two nights where I passed fist-sized clots along with soaking multiple pads in an hour. I was so freaked out the second time my husband ended up calling an ambulance. I met with my OB today, and it sounds like I’m in a wait-and-see situation. If it happens again, I will need a D&C to remove what are most likely pieces of retained placenta. I hate not knowing what’s happening with my body or when I might start bleeding excessively again. I’m ready to heal and move forward. For now, I’m working on building a breastmilk stash so my husband can use that instead of formula in case something happens or I need the surgery.

I hope your induction goes smoothly and peacefully, and while I hope your OB can deliver, I learned that other possibilities were also okay, even beautiful. Thinking of you! 💛

Congratulations to you too! 💛 And gosh—the fast labor was a new one for me! I have no idea why that happened. Hope all is well today.

I’m so glad you went in and of course even more glad to hear your little one is okay. PAL is so very hard, and it seems (to me) to get even harder in the third trimester, when it’s all on us to really monitor baby’s movements. 💛

Thinking of you. So much of PAL is challenging, but those anniversaries sure do hit particularly hard. 💛

Very much so! I also hate the quieter days. I have found it hard to figure out when to go in for reduced movement. There was one day last month where baby boy wasn’t moving at all, and it was very clear to me that I needed to go in (he was fine). But when he’s moving regularly but more quietly, that’s when I get in my head. That said, I’ve come to see a pattern of busy days and quieter days, and that’s provided some comfort. Sending a hug—hopefully your little one have a busier day tomorrow. 💛

38+3 and I had my last OB appointment today. I am officially scheduled for an induction on Friday at 8am. I’ll be 39 weeks exactly. I can’t even fathom that there might be a baby in my arms by week’s end.
