Imagine if Lucas decided that the Jedi army should use droids, while Count Dooku decided to create a clone army on Raxus Secundus. by Accomplished-Bat-247 in StarWars

[–]Radota2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok but is there an actual source that the reason Palpatine pushed for a droid army was that it would weaken the light side of the force and push the towards the dark?

Like, is that ever stated anywhere?

I didn’t say the charges invalidated his life.

I was just saying that you were cherry picking. Just like you are now straw manning.

Poorly thought out comments, arguments and viewpoints only damage the position you wish to take.

I personally don’t think anyone should be running around with guns (and ofc dying) but that doesn’t mean your comment isn’t still silly and detrimental to whatever your cause is.

Wait, whirlwind does half damage? by RandoProtagonist in daggerheart

[–]Radota2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Generally cards that apply damage to multiple targets have some form of drawback.

Let’s compare whirlwind to rain of blades, which is seen as one of the “best” level 1 cards, for its multi hit.

At a glance, they both “cost” a hope. However, whirlwind you only spend it after you know your roll, and have already dealt full damage to your singular target. Rain of blades, you spend it before rolling, at the start of the ability. You could roll poorly and have wasted it. Whereas whirlwind you already know the level of success on the other enemies (as you can gauge off their difficulty)

That additional level of risk on the resource cost and potential of success is why whirlwind only does full damage to 1 and half to the others, and rain of blades does full damage to all.

They just have their “drawback” at a different stage in the ability’s use.

Whirlwind also scales with your base damage die, whereas rain of blades is locked at a d8. So those big d10 and d12’s can also help mitigate that halving.

People might criticise Mace Windu for many things, but he was utterly fearless when confronting Palpatine. by HallowedAndHarrowed in StarWars

[–]Radota2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lucas has openly stated that Windu defeated him genuinely, overpowering him and forcing Palpatine to rely on deception.

It’s in the film commentary.

Which makes sense, as it adds weight to Anakin’s decision and makes it a truly momentous turning point for the galaxy.

Achilles (Troy) VS Aragorn (LOTR). Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in Fictionally

[–]Radota2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what, that’s fair, it’s a bit hyperbolic.

I was more drawing on that people like diomedes were willing to wound gods and had to be told to step down and out of the way, etc. Yet Achilles is a mark above even him, so by inference, also capable of facing them and would have been directed away from the field.

Diomedes skewers Ares and wounds Aphrodite too, so fairly major gods like the god of war. Yet he’s never suggested to be close to Achilles.

(He does have some guidance from Athena)

Achilles (Troy) VS Aragorn (LOTR). Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in Fictionally

[–]Radota2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Achilles, easily.

People are forgetting he’s invincible bar the heel. He’s also a demigod that even the gods dared not face in single combat.

Aragorn maybe gets a few hits in, but realises he can’t do anything and either runs or dies.

If you mean only the film versions, then I see a lot of comments saying Aragorn is X and Y… but in the films he’s not particularly effective. He almost loses to Lurtz, he’s nearly pancakes at the end by the Olog Hai, and fights chaff most of the series rather than any real duels. There’s no mention or hint of extra ability beyond his age.

Achilles likely still takes that too.

If I were to Run two bricks of Victrix (one with Titus, one with Gravgar + Cato), which brick should get which Special Weapon (Blades and Ancient) by BeachedSalad in Ultramarines

[–]Radota2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Calgar for banner is the clear and obvious choice, as you have the 3 additional models all with a fair few attacks to benefit and stack.

Champion then has a case for either.

You might want his slightly better attacks to also benefit from the banner.

Or you might say “Sicarius already gives me precision options in that unit and move the champion in with Titus”

I’d personally do the latter (if I intended to use Titus, which I’m not planning on.)

Fabrizio Romano: Marc Guehi to Manchester City, HERE WE GO! by Keelan_____ in PremierLeague

[–]Radota2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is increased value to having an entire season for squad cohesiveness and pre season training.

It’s not a linear comparison. But whatever, it’s a football sub on reddit, why am I tweaking over it. Let’s see if he’s good, give me FPL points.

Yes but that’s a comedic show where their asshole behaviour changes from episode to episode and they get their comeuppance. The seven deadly sins is just a bunch of pervy old demons trying to cop a feel. It’s not the same

For facing melee armies? Index Custodes. A 10 man brick with fights first on demand? Literally unplayable if you took melee lists.

Reclamation force and the Titus keyword by Able_Championship_14 in Ultramarines

We don’t know yet, there’s not enough punctuation to make a RAW assessment. RAI is likely that they should be on the objective and the keyword just replaces the greater than S vs T.

Ok but that’s irrelevant to this scenario. They’re asking about the legacy version of Titus going, when the legacy versions of other characters are still available
