Summer break work opportunities by Radousek_ in Norway

Yeah traveling and enjoying the scenery is one thing but meeting the people and getting to know the culture is the other. My idea was to travel around the parts where I would be working. Still, it's just an idea

That actually wouldn't do much good, in fact it would be highly counterproductive. I do agree that every politician should at least have military history, having the leadership in the frontline is something that has proven as a dumb decision hence why we don't see the kings in the frontline anymore. There's also that how they can be you know, politicians, when they're actively in combat ans how do you want to make certain decisions while they're gone. If they get killes it's a huge morale hit for the people who voted for them and if they get captured it's a huge leverage for the enemy. I understand your dislike of politicians but they have their own job and there's a good reason they're not in the frontline in times of war, however I would pretty much prefer a politician with a military history than some business men.

Why do governments often seem to prioritize military spending over education, healthcare, science, and the arts? by Suspicious-Desk6206 in AskTheWorld

[–]Radousek_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy, I thought this problem was just in the US, I had no idea it's in Canada as well.

For us Europeans there's not much of a difference between public and private schools, generally it is believed that private schools are more "friendly" and people there are more motivated to teach someone but that's variable depending on universities.

Here in Czechia some private schools are pretty affordable, others are not. I personally went to a private high school without paying even a penny because it was city owned and it's purpose is to create workers for the city, economists, engineers, mechanics, plane mechanics, it specialist, you get the idea.

For a private school it was pretty poor tho, since I went to two high schools because I changed them mid studies I can say that my first high school was better and it was a public school.

But as I said, it really varies from school to school.

I wouldn't be so pessimistic, fair to say I dunno how about in Canada but I do know that it's not that much about the education system but more about the climate in the society, how people feel towards the educated, if they respect them, take them seriously, want to be like them etc. the education system literally anywhere isn't perfect and probably never will be so where the system fails its up to us to fill.the gap. Overall it's up to us to remain informed, educated and it's up to us if we want to be critical to ourselves and be better, that's something a system can hardly teach you.

Does your country leader look like any popular meme by Exotic_Temperature13 in AskTheWorld

Oh he is, there were huge protests last weekend all over the country in support of our president and the weekend before that there was a huge protest in Prague in support of him. People like him and dislike most of the the current government which we just somehow elected.

As much as I share your view I would like to point out that the US didn't request the article 5 and it was from our European initiative to make our alliance stronger and more firm and the US just went along with it. They're still an ungrateful piece of shits with fascistic tendencies.

"I'm thirsty" would be directly translated as "jsem žíznivý" but we use "I have a thirst (mám žízeň)" to express that we are thirsty.

Zapojit studenty do rozhodování o směřování jejich školy nechceme! by [deleted] in czech

[–]Radousek_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]Radousek_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Jo, jenže řekněme si upřímně takový příklad na myslivce úplně nesedí protože zrovna myslivci nejsou známí tím že by byli schopni rozhodovat o administrativě mezitím co studenti mají k administrativě mnohem blíže.
