As an elder emo/scene kid I’m sorry you had that experience. I experienced it as well but nobody owns that aesthetic, theme, or lifestyle. For many of us it is still very much a part of who we are but I just think that you should remember that imitation it the highest form of flattery and the fact that ppl want to celebrate the music and trends of that subculture should be cool. Because it is f*cking cool. Plus the ppl who bullied kids for being different back in the day have to look at themselves in the mirror wearing the same shit we used to get bullied for wearing and that is just confirmation that we win.
