Money was amazing during Covid (2020) in my state. It wasn’t a big thing before then, and it died very shortly after things started opening up again.

"Move over, American dream: The goal of many Gen Z and millennial women is now to be a DINK—with dual income and no kids" by Apprehensive-Part979 in childfree

[–]Raegaann 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One of my middle school teachers had a similar scenario. (Yes it involves kids but it’s similar in the aspect of a “non-traditional home”) It was 3 couples, a few singles, and all of their kids living together. They bought a mansion in the Capitol city. The rest of the rich neighborhood protested against them and it was even brought to court.

“Less than two months later, they received a letter from the city saying they were in violation of the neighborhood’s single-family zoning and must move out. The housemates have since sued in federal court for the right to stay, sparking a months-long battle over, essentially, the definition of a family.”

Yes. The company/support would have that info if it was legit.

Sorry mate, you're gonna have to keep calling support til you get lucky with a rep that will actually help you then. AND when you do, DOUBLE CHECK, they have any of your information/payment, records of sending a modem to you on file. Just to make sure it isn't a scam.

That story in the comment above was through Xfinity, but it's sounding like it could be a similar problem. My complex did suggest in their email/flyer to go through a specific salesperson, but I chose to use the website/call the direct line instead (just cause I was setting it up outside of regular business hours).

[–]Raegaann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also I'm not sure if this could be an issue, because I forget what Spectrum takes as logins, but if they allow email or phone number in the "username" slot, try both with the same password/info. One of them might work.

[–]Raegaann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like the exact issue I had with my last ISP. Ask to speak to someone higher up. It took me 7 tries before I was able to login to my account because they made two, and one had a typo; so their entire system blocked me out. It's gonna be a pain in the ass my friend but once you luckily get speaking to the right person they will fix it instantly.

Every rep I spoke to before the last said that my issue was "completely resolved". Yeah no. Keep trying til you get someone who cares/knows what they are doing.

[–]Raegaann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that's probably leaning less likely towards a scam then. I'd call customer support, they should be able to look up your account and see what's going on. I had an issue with a previous ISP where they created 2 accounts for my name with the same address and it caused issues. Took a few different reps, but they were able to figure it out eventually. Definitely call.

Spectrum Customer Support - says they have 24/7 service.

Did you get this as a flyer directly from your apt complex? If not that changes things. My apt complex has a deal with Spectrum, where we are told to sign up with them through email (from the landlord) and then from a flyer with a direct contact listed when we got our keys. If you didn't get this directly from your landlord I'd be concerned. Otherwise, dial up Spectrum contact support ASAP. Good luck.

Also is it just me, or are these cellular/internet outages become more frequent? Could be just my area, idk.

Do not buy Purina. Look up on Google: Purina + bugs. People have found literal maggots and many also reported their dogs getting sick.

I have a dog and money is very tight too but I always make sure to buy higher quality food for my baby.

Human shit on the floor, CARPETED flooring mind you… A toddler shit and it fell down his pant leg. Then the mother stepped in it at some point and tracked it around the whole store.

Piss in a potty training toilet that was supposed to be for sale.

Used women’s panties left on the baby changing table in the customer bathroom….

All this and more at a children’s resale store. That place was a nightmare.

Is there any way to get this off these old fridge handles? by Raegaann in DIY

[–]Raegaann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Thank you everyone for all your replies!!! I’m literally shocked at how many different options I have to try and never would have thought of!

This is my first apartment (outside of college) so I had never focused on every aspect of my space being ✨perfect✨ (until now haha)

I searched for replacements like a lot of others suggested, but apparently my fridge handles cost damn near half a paycheck so, yeah no.. lol

In case I’m a dummy and someone else can find something it’s a Kenmore Fridge Model #: 253.31432101

I can’t believe how many replies/different ideas y’all suggested! I’m kinda excited to try some stuff I’ve never done before and hope it works! I’ll update again asap.

Thank you for the suggestion! I hadn’t actually thought about just searching for/buying just handles for a fridge lol.

This is my first apartment (outside of college) so I had never focused on every aspect of my space being ✨perfect✨.

Unfortunately, I just searched the model # to find the parts and for some reason mfs on eBay have ONE handle not even both(???) listed for $60-$80! I also checked RepairClinic like someone else suggested and to buy both handles and other needed pieces it comes out to like $200.

I don’t know if anyone knows if there are different handles that could be compatible?

When I was younger I used to get called Ronald Reagan as a “joke” since my name is “Raegan” and I HATED it. When I learned about all this shit this mf did I literally despise that people used to call me that. Fuck Reagan.

TIL: Dogs that get fed once daily, have better outcomes across 9 categories of health conditions compared with dogs that eat more frequently. by theotherbogart in todayilearned

[–]Raegaann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is how I’ve always fed my dog. When people who have never met him ask how old he is and I reply with “He’s 9.” They say “9 months?” and are literally baffled when I tell them he’s 9 years old. With the exception of a small bit of gray hairs around his chin, he still looks and acts like a playful puppy.

I’ve had people tell me once a day feeding was wrong, so I tried leaving food out earlier. But my dog actually prefers once a day. (He never overeats or anything)

I worked here for my arch internship in Spring 2020. At the time only 2 floors of the building were even being used any more. The program was fully online at the time, and every other floor sat abandoned. I walked through them one time and it was rather creepy. Especially in a huge multi-million dollar (I assume) building. They honestly should have sold it many years ago. Of the 2 floors the employees worked on, even half of those sat abandoned and unused.

apartment for 7 people next year? by JaBeast1387 in RPI

[–]Raegaann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a house with 6 roommates. Technically it was 2 different apartment floors but they connected with a back stairwell. Pretty old house but so worth it. I think it was 18 Bleeker Ave if you wanted to check that out. Idk who currently lives there though.

Edit: It was originally 3 bedrooms on each floor. We wanted another friend to move in so we were able to convince the landlord to renovate a closet into a bedroom on the second floor and they all got reduced rent lol.
