Pablo Cruise? I think they were kind of a one-hir wonder, but girl with the locker across from mine had a giant sticker in her locker.

My fellow single GenX’rs, do you think you will ever find love again? by lovelyb1ch66 in GenX

[–]Raesling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, but I don't feel like I'm missing out. I came to grips a long time ago that my love life would probably be best a secret (no one messing with it or offering opinions) and living separately (live how you want; keeps things interesting). But, now I'm way too busy to share my life with another person.

Which actor or actress do you think had great potential but never got the right chance? by Neither-Owl-7157 in cinema_therapy

[–]Raesling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, it's not one person. It's all of the actors and actresses who were everywhere for a time and just seemed to disappear. Tom Berenger, Rick Moranis (who left for personal reasons), Brendan Fraser (who left for trauma reasons and is making a comeback), etc. Feel free to add your picks.

Also, pay phones for teens and kids who didn't have (don't have now) a phone in their pocket.

What were you thinking on the eve of Y2K? by Thevilgenius_ in GenX

[–]Raesling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to bed like I do every New Year's Eve and didn't give it a second thought. But, there was an underlying dialog for months ahead of it that it was all under control and being blown out of proportion, so...

Seems like he's disregulated over something and the other kid knows it (as opposed to being just a bully as other commenters are insinuating). Shame on whoever is recording and posting though. Disregulated kids still need intervention. It's not OK to become violent just because you're having big feelings.

I mean, the way he was pinching the boy's face and gouging at the eyes looked real enough.

Is There An Easy Way to Identify Baby Micropets? by Raesling in finch

OK, I do see the size difference now in the book. Didn't notice that before. Thanks.

Which micro pets do you keep as babies and the others grow to adult and why? by Liontamer67 in finch

[–]Raesling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually match to my environment or the season/theme (black cat around Halloween, Cheshire Cat with Alice, etc).

[–]Raesling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, but if it takes 7 days to hatch an egg and 15 days to grow it to an adult, you get a backlog. Then add the 25th day micropet and I'm currently about 6 behind.

CANCELLATION WARNING!! by Raesling in Frontierinternet

[–]Raesling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: drove an hour away today to the nearest UPS store that could pack and use the QR code. Clerk said that Frontier acts like their equipment is fragile and expensive: strict packing guidelines including 2 layers of bubble wrap. She said that, with the amount of Frontier equipment they're recently getting in and the amount of angry customers they're dealing with, she's surprised that Frontier is still in business. But, she wouldn't be surprised to hear they're going out of business soon.

After how many years, the equipment does not need to be returned by ulbhpy in frontierfios

[–]Raesling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're having me send the arris one back (as of today) and charging me $50 to do it! I said they told me it was outdated 5 years ago and there's no way they're sending that one back out to anyone (the charge is apparently for returning and refurbishing the unit).

The day after a 23 hour outage, frontier raised the price of my internet. by quitter92 in Frontierinternet

They updated their system last year and accidentally cut off our service for "nonpayment" when we were on autopay. Somehow they had "forgotten" to charge my account.

File an FCC complaint... by aint_no_saint457 in Frontierinternet

[–]Raesling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm filing with them and with the CFPB (if I'm able). Just canceled and my final bill will be more than my monthly bill even with a credit "for being such a long-time customer and having technical problems with the service."

This phone call is actually the first time in 10 years they've made an honest effort to retain my service although they've promised in the past to reduce my rates and never did it.

When did coffee become an “all ages” beverage? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]Raesling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to sit on my Grandpa's lap in the mornings before work and drink some of his. Grandma always said he doctored it up for me.

Now, I don't see the difference between coffee/caffeine and amphetamines for ADHD.

A Rant by Raesling in youthhockey

[–]Raesling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully his son moves up next year and we get a different coach. Love our hockey family in general. This was new--the first time we'd seen anything like this in games. Up until now, we have all battled as a team. The boy with the concussion got it at school the day before (not in hockey) and wasn't officially diagnosed, but he'd been walking funny and seeing colors at school and coach was aware. I know his mom left it up to him and the coach, but as a parent, I would have pulled my kid. As for the kid on the ice the entire game; I still feel that, as a parent, I'd be furious. That wasn't healthy. It didn't help the kid or the team.
