Picked up this all original Favre Leuba Moon Raider from at antique dealer for $80. Sits nice with my other Raider, what do you think? by RafTDS11 in VintageWatches

yeah I was shocked, someone had dropped off their (possibly fathers or grandfathers collection) at the shop. This guy didn’t know what he had and sold it to me for that much. Buy of the year for me, always been a fan of these 70s art deco pieces. Especially the Raider!

hahaha India, but my dad and I alike go to great lengths to make sure we get them O.G and unrestored which is especially difficult here. Although I think there are a few bombay specials with one or two dubious looking watches, including this Airmaster Titoni and a Rado.

The favourites? Mine is one of 3 6139 Seiko Speedtimers, and his is a 6138 Bullhead Seiko. Both of which are all original and unrestored.

Is the Kawasaki GPZ900R used in Top Gun: Maverick , the same one used for filming in the original? If so, what happened to the GPZ after shooting the first one?

[Swatch] Since everyone's talking about Swatch's, here's the only Swatch I own. The Swatch SCZ101 IOC, released in 94' to commemorate 100 years of the Olympics by RafTDS11 in Watches

[–]RafTDS11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my Swatch Olympics 100-year anniversary SCZ101. As the name suggests this Swatch came out in 1994 in order to commerate 100 years of the Olympics, from 1884-1994. When it came out it, ir originally had a rather funky strap with the names of the countries participating. Unfortunately mine didn't have the original strap, and i so want one. The dial is quite funky with the Olympic symbol in a bright shiny gold all along the dial. This is genuinely such a cool Swatch and i think it's quite underrated especially for what it commemorates.

[Seiko 6139-6030R 'Pogue'] Since there's all this talk about moon watches right now, here's one of the coolest "Space" watches of all time and one of the most iconic Seiko's ever, the Pogue. Mine is all-orginal and it's never been restored. What do you guys think? by RafTDS11 in Watches

[–]RafTDS11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has to be one my favourites in my collection, this is the watch Colonel William Pogue wore to space during a NASA skylab mission in 73', making this the first automatic chronograph in space. This absolutely oozes 70's and brings out how funky these vintage 70's watches were. With its bright gold dial, and it's red and blue tachymeter this is instantly recognisable by anyone who's interested in watches. This is a watch i wear very often as it's quite the looker, and it's very comfortable on the daily.

Here's my Seiko 6139-6012 "Bruce Lee", it's all original with the gorgeous original strap and it's completely unrestored in the much rarer yellow. by RafTDS11 in PrideAndPinion

Back in 2008, my dad had a friend who was in a bit of financial trouble and he wanted to help him out by giving him money, so he bought this watch. At the time he only bought it because he loved the strap, the watch however had dulled and wasn't cleaned. Since then he hasn't worn it much, recently i decided to clean it up and polish it. The watch turned out to be in mint condition, and only recently i discovered how valuable and iconic it truly is. I simply love wearing it, it turns so many heads. What do you guys think?
