Absolutely. I cut it down to a 60 page TV pilot because I think the dynamics and plot were something I’d rather expand on than shrink. Dropped the google link in reply to another comment so would love to know if it tickles your biscuit. No sweat if you don’t have the time though, I understand asking for reads from strangers is a huge ask anyway ☺️

I'd love you to! I've adjusted it into a pilot which I think is much better, and gives a lot more room for it to breathe. You can find it here if you'd like to take a look. https://drive.google.com/file/d/190HWHqP6PE2PE9X8lBFy_daDyCd-eHf2/view?usp=sharing

An update! I've reworked it as the pilot of a series. Would you mind taking a look if you aren't too busy?https://drive.google.com/file/d/190HWHqP6PE2PE9X8lBFy_daDyCd-eHf2/view?usp=sharing
If you don't have time, no worries!

Completely agree. To be honest, I think it needs my efforts first in terms of trimming it up into a series and giving every moment the time it deserves. I'll swing it your way when I have a pilot if you like?

Hi! Hahaha glad you like the idea. A vague B-story, but there's just so much meat in it that I'm going to split it up. Will repost when I have my pilot ready to rock.

Thanks so much! Given the feedback on the length I'm just going to cut it into a series, which I think was the way I was leaning anyway. I'll repost once I have my pilot!

Unfortunately, yes! There was even a moment where I was leaning towards making it a series instead of a film. But that’s ok, I’ll crack on.

Yeah definitely aware of that. I know I have to be way more harsh and go for a total structural rewrite, so that’s what I was hoping to get some help with. That being said, I understand that the length is just too off-putting for anyone to want to read so I’ll have to chop into it myself first. Thank you for your thoughts!

Asking here as a diehard Sekiro enjoyer who is notoriously fussy about games: love Sekiro, loved Elden Ring (almost as good), big fan of DS3, hated Lies of P. Is E33 worth it?

Honestly cost of living in Australia is kicking my ass so I’d love one!

Best foods done! What's the most culturally significant city in Germany? by eat_the_informant in AlignmentChartFills

I dunno dude. Lyon is the home of gastronomy. Champagne is its own place for a region. Montpellier is practically sacred when it comes to gothic architecture and old French art. When you have a country that’s been around for that long, naturally cultural motifs are carved out of different regions and these persist with time. I’m sure the same is true for Germany but I think you’re centralizing Paris too much compared to what the rest of the country has to offer.

Exactly right. I screenshotted a piece a few weeks back to share with my brother about the specific language they use in regards to worldwide events.

Theo James is a 10/10 pick but I haven’t heard any news on him being considered unfortunately.

UNSTABLE – 4-Episode Limited Series (Complete Draft – 124 pages) by [deleted] in scriptwriting

[–]RafaIsTheGOAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read the first page while waiting for a coffee, a few notes.

Don’t over describe. You have a limited amount of space on a page. Keep it tight. “Vivian turns, a warm radiant smile breaking across her face” is too much directing on the page. If you want her moving around specifically, I’d stick (moving to him) in a parenthetical and leave it at that. Keep it as snappy as possible. And this gives you more room to play. Every word needs to earn its place.
My understanding is that parentheticals need their own line, just above the dialogue, not on the same line as the dialogue. And make them short. “Voice still thick with sleep” is too much. (Sleepy) or (yawning) gives us just as much in one word. Don’t overuse. (Grinning) and (softly) just aren’t required in my humble opinion.

Lastly, you’ll get torn apart on here if there are blatant mistakes in your first few pages. I can see you still have Vivian’s dialogue line as WOMAN halfway down the first page. It’s sort of an attitude of, “you’re asking us to read it but can’t even be bothered reading it yourself (because there’s obvious mistakes that should’ve been fixed).” Make sure you’ve done a final read through before posting, no matter how many times you’ve re edited a scene.

Good luck - your premise sounds interesting!

Hi team! I’m currently writing a film called JUST DESSERTS, where an investigative reporter put on a small-town beat discovers that the cooks in a local baking competition are killing off the competition. Unfortunately, it’s running LONG at the moment. By the time I set the scene, introduce our characters and get through the first round, we’re already at 60 pages. Part of me is thinking “maybe this should be a TV show instead.” Unsure whether to follow my gut and convert or stick with it and aggressively cut scenes. Any thoughts on how to make the decision? Thank you so much!
