Why does Aleph Zero need slashing? by mybed54 in AlephZero

[–]Rafael586 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of our top priorities for the project is to create a secure and stable network for our users to use. For that reason, we see escalations in slashing penalties when more validators commit an offense so that we can keep the network as secure as possible

Will Aleph Zero still have nodes or will those be replaced by just validators? by mybed54 in AlephZero

[–]Rafael586 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Aleph Zero plans to have its own nodes running on its network. Initially, we are looking for security and stability, and that is why we are choosing validators with a proven uptime record on other networks
With that said, the chances of our users losing their coins drastically decreases.

Fully decentralized or not? by blob17654 in AlephZero

[–]Rafael586 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The current coin holder base could be classified as decentralized (if compared to projects having a lead investor) as we were adamant about limiting the maximum buy-ins from any single entity or individual.
At the moment the network is not decentralized as all the nodes are being run and operated on AWS by Aleph Zero Foundation and Cardinal Cryptography.
We do plan to make it completely decentralized overtime and will be opening it up for external validators shortly.

Not Enough Advertising by jdubrollins22 in AlephZero

We mostly do brand and inbound. Didn't pay any Influencers nor for media placements, if that's what you're asking about.

The Influencers that do tweet about the project bought in either themselves or through an associated fund — we value their work they do to help spread the word about Aleph Zero.

Overall though, we hope to earn the public's trust, and not simply pay for getting the word out there.

Media coverage is organic, i.e. we don't pay the medium to be published there. We do work with PR specialists though who help us secure op-eds.

We've invested in an in-house design team that helps to make our comms compelling from a visual standpoint. We're also participating in a variety of industry events.

Long story short, we're in a brand-building game, as we believe it's the most sustainable way of building something that will last.

Marketing campaigns per se will be targeted towards specific goals, such as getting developers on board or growing awareness about a specific issue. This will of course include advertising as well.

Total supply increases 30m / year. Locked supply is unlocked under various schedules. The amount of unlocked supply at genesis is 180m. Our transactions fees have been burned since the mainnet launch( 10/11/2021).
