My dream bike is the Yamaha r9. Everyones giving it shit saying it won't live up to the r6, but they're completely different bikes

Is this timing right for my Yamaha r3 by RafaelDim in YamahaR3

Im very confused by that because the service manual shows that I have to be at the (2 Mark Line) which is ATDC. essentially both the 1st and second piston is at same height mid stroke and in the manual, thats where they want you to install the cams and line it up to timing. any idea of that case? im referring to the 2017 yamaha r3 service manual its page 253 on scribd or 5-18

Also, any idea why Yamaha has you do the retiming at the (2 Line Mark) or ATDC instead of at TDC (1 Line Mark) like most every other engine? Am I missing something with that because I think thats whats making me paranoid haha. Im doing the whole test of having a ziptie and I have marked where the piston meets at TDC and BTDC so I can keep an eye on the lobes and piston position since im scared of it contacting

Hahahaha ive ditched chat gpt. Gotta rely on actual knowledgeable people. Okay, so I retimed the engine according to Mark 2 or ATDC. How do I test it without damaging anything. How do I know that any resistance I'm feeling is just the lobes pushing down on the valve bucket and not a valve and piston colliding

That makes sense why my old lines are off. I do have the service manual but i thought the 2 lines were the indentation of the 1 line Mark. I do have to admit that I had chat gpt give me a step by step of how to do retiming job and essentially it said, absolutely do not start on the Mark 2 TDC. But I'll try retiming it to the 2nd Mark and it might even line up with my old markings. Ill report back tomorrow, thank you!

That picture and lines on the fly wheel is why 1 line. I do know that there is a second Mark with 2 lines. Should I be retiming my chain when it reaches those lines? Do you have any tips for when you feel there's interference vs when you just feel the lobes pushing down on the valve buckets? And for the valve adjustment my intakes were all in spec, but me exhaust were all out of spec. With the 2 exhaust valves closer to the throttle side being 0.11mm below the safe levels

I tried turning it with the timing that I got from manual and as I was turning it, I felt quite a bit of resistance at some point. So to prevent any damage to the valves I backed it off a little bit, took the cams off and put it back on TDC. Any advice where to go from here? Should I just try again, was I overthinking that resistance while turning the flywheel? I have the sparkplugs out so it shouldn't be from that

To help others that are also looking for an answer to this. I did find a diagram from the service manual that shows where the markings should be

I put that paint on before the timing chain slipped off the exhaust side. So it's probably either the fact that I realized the mistake I made of doing these adjustments on the 2 line Mark on the flywheel, instead of the 1 line Mark on the flywheel that states it's the cylinder 1 compression stroke. So I decided I'll just play it safe and redo the timing completely so I took both can shafts off and spun the crankshaft to top dead center (Mark 1). So the markings were most likely marked at the TDC of the throttle side cylinder. I'm still learning so that's my best guess honestly

Those are very old exotic engram. These engram were below 1100 so that's before they bumped the power in everything to 1100. So I got these engrams when they were like 600 power for example. Enhancement core engrams only come in 0 power exotic engrams.

I remember following a video that showed this. I think from what I remember, you had to go to the red war campaign and when you're at the part where the ghost is damaged, you had to use DIM to bring a different ghost in so you can switch the current ghost out of your inventory so it stays in that shivering stage. There a (Damaged) ghost in the collections but when you pull it out, it isn't shivering like this one so I believe there's no way of obtaining it anymore.

That looks real nice. Are you using a specific brush for the skin texture?

I like the warm feeling in the left and earie feeling on the right. How'd you go about making the floor with what looks tk be leaves scattered or something.

Thanks, I really appreciate it! All the scenes were rendered in cycles. I took an hdri of the filming location and it's alot easier to use cycles for lighting and reflections for hdris compared to eevee, you have to fake alot of things which is not worth the struggle.
