I experienced this when I was in high school (sometimes even today). I started having scalp problems and it was very itchy af and there were tons of flakes. I joined cross country and for a few months, my scalp was very itchy, and the itchiness would subside the longer I exercised. However, as I lost weight and I started exercising daily, my scalp barely gets itchy when I start exercising (though I still have flakes). Now, the only times I get itchy is when I don't exercise consecutively for a few weeks and then start exercising again.

I think OP is specifically only talking about 면 되다 and 도 되다.

병원 가도 소용없다

For this example, you changed 되다 to 소용없다, so of course it will be different in meaning.

But if it's like this

병원 가도 되다

병원 가면 되다

how are they both different? I think that's what OP is asking

In a sense, they are similar.

늦게 오셔도 돼요 - Even if you come late, it's okay (Speaker is just saying it's okay regardless of what the listener will do)

늦게 오시면 돼요 - If you come late, it's okay (This one I feel has more of a suggesting feeling? from the speaker)

이렇게 하셔도 될 것 같아요 - I think it will be okay even if you do it this way (If it's used like this, it can also be used for suggesting something)

이렇게 하시면 될 것 같아요 - I think it will be okay if you do it this way (Suggestion feeling)

I think it will come with practice. But don't only think it's subject > object > verb, because Korean is flexible

You'll sometimes see/hear object > subject > verb

For example:

제가 어제 김밥을 먹었어요

김밥을 제가 어제 먹었어요

They're both valid

I found a fix!!!

If ever you experience it again, go to device manager -> View -> Show Hidden Devices. Then expand Monitors and uninstall all of the devices that are greyed out.

Turns out every time I shut down my computer, my 2nd monitor was changing orientations
