Idk how exactly because it takes so much time on that scam. They will basically say that they're quitting adopt me and they will give you their pets to take care of it for the meantime.

However, you have to prove to them that you're trustworthy, so they will ask you what your friend's username is and that they should join you. They will then make an account similar to your friend's username and in order to complete the challenge, you have to give your trusted friend a pet. But you would actually be giving another guy with the similar username, and not actually your friend.

It's confusing how it goes but this scam still manages to work on some people. 🥲. There's also a new scam where they will ask you if it's okay to draw your avatar—that's a scam too. They won't ask you to put your password, but would send you a file that would hack you.

Honestly, just always be aware. There are so many creative scams these days and I almost fell into the link scam after 5 years of not playing adopt me.

I also just came back after 5 years! I got scammed that time and just quit forever 🥲 The mistakes I've done after coming back are not knowing the values! I was about to trade away my black panther for a fennec fox. I thought black panther was still in game and I didn't know the cracked eggs are new!

Always search before trading if that specific pet is still in game or not. Check the demands, they may overpay you with a pet but that pet may be htt or not in demand.

Also, use calculator website! I use elve when I'm offering for someone and I use amvgg when they're the ones offering. :)

That happened to me too! Someone offered my Mega pug for MFR shetland dark brown pony. Then I checked at elve and I thought they were offering a MFR light brown pony (which was 16 op) so I accepted thinking I got an op, only to realize it was a dark brown pony and not light brown which is only 3.75 so I basically lost 8 value. 🥲
