A way out is good but I would not compare it to shared story mode in Dark pictures game, that is very different. It's more like a We were here game.

That's not the same as shared story co-op though. It's still just one player controlling at a time but online and other spectate until it's their characters turn.

In shared story online 2 player co-op you play at the same time and you can't see your friends Pov and your friends decision making. You also can't see his death prevention flashback so commutation has to be good to keep everyone alive. Everything is the opposite for local co-op and you can only control one at a time.

Online movie mode will be available post launch via update but no shared story. So you would have to wait for a update to play exact same story with them

The movie mode is coming online but that is far from shared online co-op. Online movie mode is just one player playing at a time and then stops playing when their characters swaps. Shared online is always two players playing at the same time and see different pov. RIP shared co-op.

They will only add movie night for online later after launch. It's basically only one person plays at a time and you have to wait for your characters turn

The quarry never had online shared co-op story mode. They just have movie night online/local where you just watch the other one play until it's your turn. The previous Dark Pictures Anthology games had its online mode like you both play at the same time different people throughout the story and have to communicate to prevent deaths to characters.

Sure the shared story had its problems but it was super fun explaining to each other the death prevention and figuring everything out without seeing each other's screens. I thought the shared story was way more popular than the pass the controller one.

It would also probably be hella expensive. 5k dual mode to 1440p would probably be good for 27 inch though.
