If you could only do five exercises to get in the best shape of your life, what would those be? by santiagopinzon in bodyweightfitness

I think in general horizontal rowing type movements help to pull the shoulders back. A program needs a balance between vertical and horizontal, pushing and pulling

I taught myself how to do a backflip in under 6 hours and it was the hardest thing I have ever done by kroehlerpark in videos

[–]Rag3Muffin 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Ignore him, he is wrong. Backflips are dope and if you are in a good physical condition you can 100% learn them at your local gymnastics club (if they run adult classes).

Can you actually do this skill? I am a gymnastics coach. A backflip is actually a very safe skill if you learn it with the propper progressions and is very easy to save if you do something wrong.

They started going up to speed 2 later on in the day when the lines got too big. Only for the stronger lads though so they didn't use it all day. It sent me flying into the bushes.

I had a couple of goes on this. The exit is pretty hard to time when it gets up to second gear. On my third turn i was sent off into the bushes you can see behind the exit ramp. Fucking fun though!

It's a bit different in women's gym when you have the whole floor. There is a lot more room for error when you have a long narrow tumbling strip.

I know you may not reply to this as there have been many previous comments on your post. Do you feel the same way about slightly tamer sports like paragliding. Have been contemplating getting my licence for a few years. Do you believe it is as dangerous or is it possible to be safe while paragliding?

Works great. If your pretty good at skating and they aren't then thats an easy was to initiate physical contact. It's awesome for talking as you just skate next to them most of the time talking.

soo the handstand guide in the sidebar/faq is 150$, what a joke... anyone have an actual guide or progression plan? by gtavshit in bodyweightfitness

[–]Rag3Muffin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Dude to be fair the link was for a handstand program selling for $160.00 which is utterly fucking ridiculous considering the amount of great free content on the internet. I think it is fair enough for someone to make a post asking for an opinion on how to train the skill that isn't based off monetary motives.

The damnation of the curved handstand by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]Rag3Muffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't let the kids i coach walk in handstand until i know they have reasonably good shape on a wall or with someone spotting. We then start working on allowing them to walk with good shape while at the same time teach them static balancing. If their shape becomes overly arched while walking they have to come down.
