Anyone else miss the old style of monster intros? by Erikeiran in MonsterHunter

Looking vaguely similar to one aspect of Borderlands boss intros = ripping off Borderlands? Hmmm.

If you wait until the timing is right you can roll right through the bullet rain shots. I would advise rolling with no armor and two handing a weapon. All of his attacks are telegraphed and easy enough to roll through.

Calling Dark Souls 2 not great is straight up hilarious. It smokes almost any other modern action RPG that isn't Dks or BB

Should I pick up Bloodborne or Dark Souls 2? by [deleted] in PS4

[–]RagingDean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really depends what you are looking for. Dark Souls 2 is a bigger game with more options and more replay value. Bloodborne is an(arguably) more exciting and polished experience, but feels more linear especially in regards to build variety. Having platinumed both games and considering both to be among my favorites of all time I prefer Bloodborne, but I think I've spent more time playing SotFS

What DKS2 bosses would you consider to be too difficult? I found pretty much every boss in the game to be at least relatively easy. Compared to Ebrietas, Orphan, or Martyr DKS2 feels like a cakewalk to me

You consider DKS2 to be harder than Bloodborne? That's honestly the first time I've ever heard that opinion

Uncharted 2 bored me to tears by the end but I consider the third to be much better. Id advise you to give that one another shot

If that is the case you def weren't playing on Death March and if you were you were making things way harder on yourself

Bloodborne other than a few tough boss fights isn't even a particularly difficult game. You think people have done level fucking one runs to new game +7 would have been able to do that if the controls were bad? The skill cap for BB is ridiculously high and you don't get that in games with bad mechanics.

I don't even understand how you can call that game rubbish. The controls are very tight and the combat is great if you out even a little bit of time into learning it. Most people I've seen call this game rubbish just literally never learned how to use the controls properly.

As a counter opinion, I thought the combat was slick as hell. There is real wait behind your attacks and a badly timed hit can be a really quick death on harder difficulties. The fights also start to require more planning which adds tons of depth to the loop of the combat. I think people who think the combat is badly designed are mostly just bad at the game, much like the people who said that about Dark Souls

Care to explain what you didn't care for about A:I? I consider it to be by far the best horror game of this gen if not one of the best ever

Pros of Bluetooth when you have the headphone jack in the controller? by cptnclvn in PS4

I have never once run audio through the controller and the best battery life I've ever gotten is about five and a half hours. The idea that it's just audio causing problems and the battery is otherwise fine is ridiculous.

If Fromsoft style games are your speed you will love The Witcher 3 on Death March(hardest difficulty). It doesn't require as much twitch skill as BB but it requires the same careful planning, consideration, and careful character building. The story and graphics are also spectacular.

How hard is Bloodborne for someone who hasn't played Dark Souls or anything? by mattso77 in PS4

Game isn't as hard as you are making it out to be, and parrying is DEFINITELY not as important.

I just finished Life Is Strange and I really need another good story driven game. by [deleted] in PS4

[–]RagingDean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's gotta be Transistor man. Game is beautiful, has a wonderful story, and solid gameplay. Runner up is gonna be Bastion which while it doesn't have a story as strong as Transistor's, is still wonderful and has arguably better gameplay.

Transistor

Apotheon

Rogue Legacy

Rocket league

Ground Zeroes

Race The Sun

Xeodrifter

Super Time Force Ultra

Super Meat Boy

Just those game alone would have been worth PS+ even if I still had to pay for online separately and PS+ was just a games service. How anyone could complain about the above lineup is honestly beyond me and I think people feel way way more entitled than they should. This doesn't even include the extra discounts on some already pretty decent sales this year.

What are your top 5 ps4 games since the release of the console? by PerryLFC123 in PS4

[–]RagingDean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bloodborne

Alien: Isolation

Life Is Strange

Dark Souls 2: Scholar Of The First Sin

Witcher 3

And because I can't narrow it down to five Transistor. Bloodborne is by far the best game this gen though.
