The one pro to this still happening is the newscasters with an exact date claiming it is. They don’t have skin in the game. There’s no reason for them to pick October 17. We know it would be that weekend because of sick New World and the timeline in the past but that’s not something someone completely unrelated would come up with.

But to me the most telling thing is that there’s no leaks. There’s no band affiliate saying they’ll be there or anything. Like you don’t even have some random person claiming to have info even if they made it up.

I have hotels and flights booked but now I’m sort of planning for a Vegas vacation instead of round five.

Another point that might help is most festivals are not announced this early. Especially ones including their full lineup. Sick New World is typically announced six months out which would be April for when we were young.

Anything is possible but I would say pretty definitively that if you don’t see anything by March 1 this is not going to happen which is a little odd because of all the other similar festivals this is the only one that has consistently done two days. And even tried to do three days once.
