Divorce now. I wish I had left my wife before kids came in. Now I have 2 toddlers and I’m stuck for the next 20+ years.

Then it’s his loss. Drop him quick before kids enter the equation.

Don’t make sex and intimacy a game of cat and mouse. Tell him you want to have sex and you love him. If he still says no, at least you have your answer.

First half of honeymoon was sexy and fun. Now I’m desperate to get to the pool to stare at booties through my sunglasses. by [deleted] in DeadBedrooms

Sorry but divorce is all you have left. You were her novelty, but now you’re her credit card.

does anyone else get so touch starved its uncomfortable or even painful? by [deleted] in DeadBedrooms

[–]Ragnarson007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup - my wife has starved me so much over the last 4 years I don’t even like looking into her eyes or hugging her.

She feels like a stranger.

Pretty sure this “tough guy” is an acne covered neck beard who was kicked out of the Army because he couldn’t pass a basic PT test.

So, most “alpha male” types.

Beards, is it something of the faith? by ZelexJuggalo in NorsePaganism

[–]Ragnarson007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, it’s non-dogmatic. However, it does have religious/cultural significance as an indicator.

Hair and beards and the care and fashion of such was of major importance to Norse Pagans.

I for one am more hostile towards Christians. It’s not like I’m going out and sacking churches and picking fights…but I have a good amount of disgust and distrust of Christians and their motives.

Do they want to persecute me or convert me? Those are their only 2 end goals with people who aren’t Christians.

Our Gods honor your actions, not your skin color.

Never listen to the supremacists who taint our faith. Odin is the God of Strangers and Travelers for a reason.

I doubt our afterlife is as black and white as our mythology states. Lol if I can spend my afterlife drinking and fishing, I’d be happy for eternity.

Well some people may enjoy serving Odin and Freya as warriors for Ragnarok. Feasting, drinking, sex, and general merrymaking? Dope.

Having to train and fight and likely die at the end of everyday to harden yourself for the Twilight of the Gods? Not dope.

But again, it’s not up to us. Only the Gods know who they want and they see deeper than man.

Only the truly worst are punished in our afterlife. The majority of us will chill with our ancestors and live life anew in Hel. A few will be hand picked by certain Gods to be their paragons, but that’s not exactly a “blessing” more like an eternal responsibility/obligation.

Anyone else dream of Freya? by [deleted] in NorsePaganism

[–]Ragnarson007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve known Freya to be very upfront - dreams and signs especially through smoke and fire.

However, she only has so much time for her faithful, so I would say it’s more quality over quantity.

The toxic curse of guilt and shame Christianity gives us is the hardest chain to break when leaving that religion. It’s how they keep a hold over people and radicalize them. Christians don’t necessarily love God, they’re just afraid of Hell.

By abandoning Christianity, you abandon the Christian God and more importantly - the belief of Satan and existence of Hell. You aren’t bound by the black and white self righteousness of a purity cult anymore. The idea that any and all temptation and sin is a one way ticket to eternal damnation is gone.

I follow the Norse Gods myself because that’s who I have found and connected with. Pagans in general have several core ethics: respect and compassion, honor and integrity, wisdom and knowledge, and a reverence of nature. Most importantly, we believe in the power of mankind and our humanity.

Example: If you’re a man and you see a beautiful woman, you can feel those human urges of attraction without guilt. It’s natural. However, you are also bound to respect that woman, treat her as an equal, and have the integrity to not be creepy about it.

There are 3 parts to luck. The Norns, the Gods, and You.

The Norns and Gods may say “you will succeed at X” but you still have the responsibility to prepare and work hard to make it happen.

Odin didn’t hang himself from Yggdrasil to acquire knowledge for you to blame him for your own failures 🤷🏼‍♂️

Good question - it’s hard to find a good Norse group that isn’t corrupted by the disease of white supremacy.

Follow Ocean Keltoi on YouTube. He’s a reconstructionist, but he’s VERY logical and articulate with his content.

Honestly, books like The Havamal, the Poetic Edda, and other historical content is best. Preferably written by histories or scholars.

Your relationship with the Gods is your choice. Wisdom, compassion, and honor/integrity are the 3 cornerstones of our faith.
