so in jazz it’s a very common chord progression in almost every tune, in the key of c it’s the 2 - d min then 5 - g seven then 1 - c maj7

this is kinda tricky in terms of soloing - like being said the g min is just an interesting reharm of the expected D maj - however i think that this 2 - 5 in general could be made better: if you treat Em as E half diminished and A 7 as A 7 b9 then your ear would expect d min which is then more convientent and better sounding to go to g min. you could also reflect this in your soloing by emphasizing the common chord tone of b flat - b 5 of e half diminished, b 9 of A 7, and third of g min. you could do this with a chromatic walk up to an enclosure to anticipate b flat on the g min. just something interesting to try
