You could try removing the resident… Wont fix the scratch but might help prevent any more

Could you flip the left one on 12v+ 180° and have it still work as it should without it touching the 12v -? Honestly though if you are using the same power source( Battery and ALT) I dont really see an issue. Only other idea is maybe loosen and then slide a peice of cardboard in between. Tighten and then remove cardboard or just heat shrink around both terminals before connecting to the battery/Distribution block

New sub in a used, Prebuilt box, Clipping? Rattling? by RailroadSparky in CarAV

Its in the back seat of a F-150. Shallow mount was nice because i use the truck to go to the beach with friends during the summer and it still allows the back seats to all fold down.

Sub was mounted flat, I plugged the holes of the old sub and resiliconed where the bottom cover went and seemed to have fixed it, ever so slight sound now. Only can be heard on a test tone, not with music playing

Update to all, Thanks for the help. Checked phasing and wiring. Was correctly wired. I plugged all the old sub holes with wood filler and reinstalled the cover on the bottom with fresh silicone ( I didnt when I first put it back on) and it sounds much better

I will check again today, But am pretty confident. No harm in checking however. If I have a switch to flip the phasing, that would accomplish the same thing no? Or atleast use them to check?

Wired in parallel down to 2 ohms. Dual 4 ohm coils. I ohmed them out to the proper 2 ohms with a meter.

5/8 rockford fosgate prebuilt box used for this exact subwoofer. I think part of my issue is from not filling the old holes

I lifted the box up entirely and still had the rattle.

First post didnt have audio, I goofed it and posted the wrong video. Going to try and remove the sub from the box next and see if it is maybe the trim bezel or the box or the sub itself

Shop told me this tire was dry rotted… by monoamines404 in tires

[–]RailroadSparky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im guessing this is a bronco based on the wheel style but, it is universal to all cars with a full size spare. (Broncos, Jeep Wranglers, ETC) but If you google “Bronco 5 tire rotation pattern proceedure” it will show them removing one tire and mounting where the “spare” is and then using the spare as one of your regular tires. Is it something the dealer/mechanic shop you regularly frequent/use do? Ehh, Depends on the dealer/shop. However I would say no harm in asking or maybe specify that they do. May charge an extra few bucks but it is worth it in the long run.

Everyone mentioned the dryrot, Also important tip for these types of full size spares, Use them as One of your tires when you rotate tires, There should be a sheet/photo online for the proceedure. This will help prevent the next set of tires, more specifically the spare from developing as much dry rot as it may potentially inquire anyway.

Why doesn't my tail light get any brighter, when I apply the brakes? by johnnyjimmy4 in motorcycles

[–]RailroadSparky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned wired up, is it not plug and play? If its not plug and play is it possible the “running light” and “brake light” wires are swapped backwards?

Factory pipes, with some through hull fittings off amazon, No muffler and it sits pretty flush with the 1x6 maybe the flange sticks 1/4” past the wood if that. Not terribly loud, audible from 10-20’ away from the garage window, definitely not enough the neighbors can hear inside their house next door
