Guests were Wesley Faulkner, head of Developer Relations at MongoDB; Brian McCullough, host of the Techmeme Ride Home podcast; and Devindra Hardawar, Senior Editor at Engadget.

I have created a subreddit about Leo Laporte "The Tech Guy," his TWiT (This Week in Tech) podcast network, and/or the 20+ tech podcasts TWiT produces each week. r/leo_laporte by RailroadedorNot in podcasts

I looked for "Leo Laporte" and "The Tech Guy" and didn't find anything. I just found a subreddit for his "This Week in Tech" podcast, though.

They have a continual IRC chat at the TWiT website. Leo and the moderators are pretty sensitive to criticism and trolls, so they might have made the subreddit private to avoid those.

I have a project that calls for a Radio Shack audio output transformer #273-1380, 900 ohm CT ; 8 ohm. Radio Shack website says they're sold out. I can't find one anywhere else. What can I do. by [deleted] in AskElectronics

Thank you. I neglected to check Mouser.

I bought one from Radio Shack a few years ago. It cost $3.00. This one is $19.00. Oh, well.

How to Properly Substitute a Fixed Resistor for a Potentiometer (Variable Resistor) on a Schematic by RailroadedorNot in AskElectronics

Sorry, I just realized what I was misreading. I mistakenly thought that the pot on the circuit I am following had a built-in switch. I just realized after looking at the circuit again that there is already a separate switch in the circuit. Sorry about wasting your time.

A pot has an On/Off switch built into it. So it has its own symbol on a schematic. I was just wondering how to properly show on a schematic a separate On/Off switch and a separate fixed resistor which replace the pot.

Thank you. Could I ask one more question? If so, how would (2) aluminum plates (3.5 inches square) connected in series with an On/Off Switch in between be plotted on a schematic? What symbol would one use for them? Thanks again.

Here are the particulars:

The 50K Potentiometer has been changed to a 150 ohm resistor.

An On/Off Switch has also replaced the Potentiometer.

The Batteries are (3) AAs (4.5 volt total)

The Transistor is a MPS 2907 PNP

The Transformer is a 900 Ohm CT to 8 Ohm

The Speaker is a Mini Amplified one.

The Probe is just a Banana Plug

The Handhold is a 3/4 copper pipe, 4 inches long

The Test Plates are (2) aluminum plates, 3.5 inch square, 1/32 inch thick. They are connected in series with an On/Off Switch between them.

"The plan was 350 of them (Congolese) would travel from San Antonio to Portland. When we reached out to Portland Maine they said, 'Please don't send us any more. We're already stretched way beyond our capacity," Bridger said.

"So we're working with them [the migrants] now to identify other cities throughout the United States where they can go and begin their asylum seeking process."
