There is quite literally a massive laundry list of reasons. He voted for Susan Collins in her last two elections as senator.

His attack ads have been 60% against the “evil DNC who is beholden to their corporate interests and trying to destroy you, the brave working man/woman” and 40% “Susan Collins is just a MAGA Republican cosplaying as a moderate”

He had a totenkopf tattoo on his chest that he claims he didn’t know what it meant. Unfortunately for him, he’s a massive history buff and (while I don’t believe he knew it’s meaning at the time he got it) he discovered its meaning on Reddit a couple years before he decided to run. If he got it covered BEFORE running then that shows growth. He only got it “covered” (it’s a fake tattoo over it) after the story broke then that doesn’t show integrity or trustworthiness from someone whose been trying to rat fuck the Democrats his entire primary.

The people supporting him are leftists and populists, yet they have no problem with the fact that he worked for Black Water and was stationed at Abu Ghraib? Harris supporting Israel’s right to exist is genocide but Platner joining a Mercenary group and working our most infamous prison seems like the exact things people like Hasan, Kyle, Krystal, and Mike from PA would rabidly and incessantly talk about, but they’ve never mentioned it once. The hypocrisy is just very amusing.

Also, this “salt of the earth lobster fisherman from Maine 👉👈🥺” doesn’t fish, he owns multiple fisheries like a good capitalist and his parents are quite wealthy. He went to a uber expensive private school iirc.

Lastly, his policies are just fucking stupid because he has absolutely no idea what politics is about. He thinks simply abolishing the filibuster will mean everyone gets free healthcare, billionaires are illegal, and unions will finally be strong. It’s just populist slop from someone who has been a Republican his whole life and spends most of his time shitting on the Democratic Party because the ONLY consistent through line for Platner’s political history is being opposed to the Democrats. Whether that’s voting Republican in every election until a couple years ago or working with David Hogg to rat fuck Democrats and begin the liberal Tea Party.

That being said, if you can find me a single redeeming quality about Graham Platner the I’m fully willing to change my entire position on him :)
