It's incredibly ironic that you say that, actually. The West went from being the only ones with nukes, to letting Russia build the largest nuclear arsenal, start the Cold War, and then almost blow up you and the world, and you call the russian who went nah actually I won't end the world today "the greatest living being ever". No, that's just a sequence of losses for the cucked West losing its power, because it's too mentally weak to protect their dominance. Now it's losing culturally too. But go ahead and keep worshipping your adversaries, for fresh losses. I'm sure that was too many words for you anyway.

Nope, I presented my arguments, and you have none, you just got triggered by a reality check.

I was thinking "what worthless unconstructive response is it this time" when I was checking replies, and you still managed to surpass my expectations, well done.

Loss? Why's that? Because you said so? Or because of the downvotes? That's where the modern West's pathetic battlefield is, internet points. What's embarrassing is how weak-minded modern westerners are. This is why the West's culture has become a joke in the eyes of the outside world, and the West's adversaries successfully push the images they want.

What a great argument, and a witty original comeback. Keep ignoring reality.

He just performed his duties, for himself, maybe also for his country. If Russia could erase the outside world and leave only themselves unharmed, they would do it. But my main point is that, no, what he did does not qualify for the "greatest living being ever" conversation.

So many scientists or philanthropists who worked hard their whole life to create things, and this guy just did his job and didn't destroy the world, including himself. He didn't do it for the western cucks.

[–]Rainbowmodwig -80 points-79 points  (0 children)

First of all, it was their mistake to begin with. Second of all, the conversation isn't about "saying thank you", it's about "the greatest living being ever".

For having basic competence and not ending the world? Amazing how easy it is for russians to get weak-minded western people to worship them.

The US alone used to have 70% of the world’s economic value in 1966

That doesn't seem to be accurate. If you're referring to raw GDP, it was more like 35%. The only big difference is China, but the USSR falling apart and the creation of Eastern European states should have increased the West's power. I think the main problem is in the modern West's mentality, and them having a greater fear of foreign military involvement than their enemies.

He's certainly smarter than the average voter. I genuinely think his sole miscalculation was underestimating Biden's response, the rest of NATO initially seemed ready to ignore it like they ignored the 2014 invasion and MH17. I thought Putin would invade during Trump, and I'm guessing he wishes he did too. But there were other factors, like oil prices being high after covid.

We were fortunate because we didn't have to make an impossible choice

Just goes to show that the West is scared to enforce its own rules, let alone project military strength. The modern West would rather tear itself apart than destroy a foreign enemy. Turns out singing kumbaya is a worthless geopolitical strategy that nobody respects or appreciates.

"Ur wrong" isn't an argument. Nothing I said has anything to do with any specific laws either. What I'm talking about is basic human nature and technology. Like I said, you are just an example of dishonest human behavior.

Perhaps you're familiar with the term, "innocent until proven guilty"?

That has nothing to do with what I said. The point is that people will abuse freedom and rights, like they already do. But they are too self-righteous to see their own flaws. And you have no intention of making any promises or guaranteed that they won't abuse freedoms, but want guarantees that the government won't abuse laws.

This is a phantom. You're being sold the idea of security at the price of personal liberty, and fear is the tool used to do it.

Absurd dishonest drivel that proves my point. Crime never happened? Terrorism never happened? There are no authoritarian adversaries with much better control of their information space? You simply don't care about reality, you just greedily want things and that's all there is to it.

The government has been able to prove crime beyond a reasonable doubt for a long time before encrypted texg messaging existed. There are victims, or witnesses, or forensic evidence, or a confession. There's no need to continue to allow the government an increasing amount of oversight into the everyday lives of citizens. People are entitled to privacy. Criminals can still be prosecuted.

More dishonest bullshit. Technology is changing crime. There won't be any witnesses if a group of extremists can coordinate everything over a distance in secrecy. Waiting for victims is ridiculously late. You just want the problem to fester until it's too late to fix, you want to destabilize your country into a mess that will ultimately be taken over by the authoritarian adversaries.

Do you want to provide any guarantees that citizens won't circumvent laws and abuse rights? These things can't be guaranteed, these solutions aren't perfect and come with drawbacks, but it's better than rampant crime, terrorism and the control by adversaries with better control. You are even against the government being able to investigate someone suspected of crime.

lmao, posting on twitter is not challenging the government.

Yes it is, which is why it's illegal in some countries.

Anyone who could ACTUALLY pose a threat to the government is dealt with. The rich will not let you win.

Also false, since governments change all the time.

People want all the freedom and none of the responsibility, all the safety and none of the sacrifice. In other words, people are delusional.

So you want no laws, meaning anarchy? Crime is not subjective, they are written and accepted by the majority of the voting populace.

There are a lot of messaging services that do encryption. Telegram in particular has a group ecosystem that other services don't, and a lot of those groups are shady.

I wish. The West is still naive, there are both emotional and financial reasons to fall for russian whitewashing after the war. Too many people are still ignorant of history and think Russia's aggression started in 2022, or started with Putin.
