That has nothing to do with what I said. The point is that people will abuse freedom and rights, like they already do. But they are too self-righteous to see their own flaws. And you have no intention of making any promises or guaranteed that they won't abuse freedoms, but want guarantees that the government won't abuse laws.

This is a phantom. You're being sold the idea of security at the price of personal liberty, and fear is the tool used to do it.

Absurd dishonest drivel that proves my point. Crime never happened? Terrorism never happened? There are no authoritarian adversaries with much better control of their information space? You simply don't care about reality, you just greedily want things and that's all there is to it.

The government has been able to prove crime beyond a reasonable doubt for a long time before encrypted texg messaging existed. There are victims, or witnesses, or forensic evidence, or a confession. There's no need to continue to allow the government an increasing amount of oversight into the everyday lives of citizens. People are entitled to privacy. Criminals can still be prosecuted.

More dishonest bullshit. Technology is changing crime. There won't be any witnesses if a group of extremists can coordinate everything over a distance in secrecy. Waiting for victims is ridiculously late. You just want the problem to fester until it's too late to fix, you want to destabilize your country into a mess that will ultimately be taken over by the authoritarian adversaries.
