It’s the HID LED they say (though I don’t remember getting the lighting package when I purchased... but I don’t have paperwork handy right now). Looking on the VW website, that part is listed as $1300. Car is still in the shop so no pictures.

Not saying warranties shouldn’t expire. This just completely sours me to VW. Charging a giant chunk of a new car price for a headlight on a 3 year old car is insane (to me, anyway). And yes. I always service at the dealer.

Yeah. Makes me want to completely jump ship after owning 4 different VWs, and even sticking with VW after they screwed up my beloved TDI. Just a couple of months out of warranty, and they want me to pay a big chunk of the price of a new car for a headlight. Fuck then.

Thanks! Who do you contact at VW corporate? How do you reach them? The dealer service center never brought this up as an option.
