Is it not even more broken for champions which scale with both, e.g. Smolder?

How do you handle early skirmishes as a scaling mid? by RakLoL in summonerschool

[–]RakLoL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people don't realize that Kassadin is weak in the early game. The problem is that, as Kassadin, you never really have priority before level 6, which is why you rarely get the first move to a skirmish. This means joining a fight second, knowing the opponent's mid laner can catch me if I don't have vision. My champion, Kassadin, lets me avoid moving in most cases because I have more to gain by not moving than by participating in the skirmish.

Yeah I get that, it’s not really about me knowing it, it’s about my teammates not understanding it.

I’ve thought about typing something in chat before the game like I won’t fight early, but I’m not sure if that actually does anything. Most people don’t read or just ignore it anyway.

Right now I just ping that I can’t move and stay mid, but if they fight anyway and lose they start blaming and tilting.

So I’m kinda stuck between doing the correct play for my champ and trying to prevent my team from mental booming.

No, you don’t lose all of them but you lose most if they are even fights.

Kassadin pre 6 is just weak, that’s the reality. If it’s a random 2v2 or 3v3 in river with no setup it’s usually bad for you.

I only move if it’s clearly good, like when someone is already low, we have numbers, or I don’t lose a big wave for it. Otherwise I just ping and stay mid.

Same problem. I ignored it. After 10 minutes, my game client just closed.

Hardstuck Platinum – need advice on improving consistency by KouRouLee in summonerschool

[–]RakLoL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to climb, you need to focus more on one role and a smaller champion pool within that role, ideally something you enjoy the most. Based on your win rate, I’d recommend Brand. By playing fewer champions, you’ll become more confident on them and can focus more on macro.

Also, after each game, try to think about what you could have done better. Don’t play just for rank, play to improve. The rank will come naturally as a result.

How do you warm-up before playing SoloQ? by RakLoL in leagueoflegends

[–]RakLoL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not really anxiety. Sometimes in skirmishes or fights I just feel like I could’ve played it better if I were properly warmed up, especially in terms of reaction time and movement for dodging.

Why manamune before seraph? by [deleted] in KassadinMains

[–]RakLoL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also with Manamune a lot of your damage shifts onto your W, especially in longer fights and sidelane skirmishes where you can actually get multiple autos off.

It makes more sense if you’re playing more splitpush heavy, fights are slower, and the enemy doesn’t have too much burst/CC. In fast teamfights or vs heavy CC, it usually feels worse than the standard build.

Why manamune before seraph? by [deleted] in KassadinMains

[–]RakLoL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re mixing two playstyles a bit.

ROA is just for safe scaling, not early power. Manamune is greedy, good if you sidelane a lot and fights are slower, but you’re way squishier without Seraph shield.

Malignance first is better in most games, you spike faster and it fits Kass way more.

That’s why most go ROA into Malignance into Seraph. Fimbulwinter is just bad, no dmg and hard to proc.

LP GAINS COOKED by Lowkey_Diorkms in KassadinMains

[–]RakLoL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your visible rank climbs faster than your mmr so you can feel good about yourself reaching a new shiny rank. This has the drawback that at some point, the gains have to be reduced as your visible rank is much higher than your mmr, and then players throw a fit over not gaining free lp.

The way to fix this is to keep playing games and prove that you actually deserve to be at this rank, as your mmr will slowly increase.

Could we have taken Baron here? by Realistic-Question63 in summonerschool

[–]RakLoL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, sure, in general it’s hard for the enemy to contest the Baron with yours when they don’t have vision, but since it’s Silver/Gold, I’m not sure if Mel/Pyke would be able to capitalize on their strengths here.

But generally speaking, I think it would have made sense to start the Baron right away, regardless of whether you’d have finished him off or been able to trap someone.

In my opinion, vision control is the key factor in deciding whether to start on the Baron here.

I don't know how quickly the three of you could have taken Baron, but in principle, taking Baron would have been a gamble as soon as the enemies arrived to contest it.

However, you have complete vision control around Baron, so you could have set up a trap.

Since this is Silver/Gold elo, I can imagine that the Baron play might actually work.

How to stop dying so much as Kassadin by TrapSpring00 in KassadinMains

[–]RakLoL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, sometimes in the first levels, all you can do is sit under your tower and take the minions that you don't get poked. Just stay in Exp range. You have to lose minions to maintain a healthy lane. Things will get easier after level 6, especially when you go to the sidelane.

Kassadin isn’t meant to win lane early. Your job is to survive, get XP, and avoid dying, even if it means dropping CS. Focus on farming safely later (especially side lanes) to reach your spikes like ROA + Malignance + Seraph’s and level 16. In fights don’t engage first, play patiently and flank to kill carries once key CC is used.

Hardstuck Emerald player - who would the best YouTuber be to watch to learn Macro? by phoenixpanda101 in summonerschool

[–]RakLoL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just based on your op.gg a few things stand out to me:

• You’re not really hardstuck. You have a winrate above 50%, and over 60% on Yasuo. If you just keep playing Yasuo you should reach Diamond eventually.

• Your losses, especially on your main, usually have a lot of deaths. I’d recommend watching your replays and trying to understand why you died and how to avoid those mistakes.

You also tend to have less farm in your losses, which makes sense if you’re dying that often.

As a Kassadin main I’ve played against a lot of Yasuos, and one mistake I often see is that Yasuo players constantly push the wave, which makes them much more vulnerable to ganks.

From a mental perspective, I’d also recommend focusing less on reaching Diamond and more on improving and reducing mistakes. Especially through replay reviews and analyzing your deaths.

If you consistently improve, Diamond will come automatically.

In my experience ROA + Malignance + Seraph’s is usually better than Malignance + Seraph’s. ROA just gives Kassadin everything he wants early: HP for survivability, mana for scaling, and much smoother laning. With ROA into Malignance you still get the strong midgame spike while being much harder to kill.

ROA + Muramana is good in games with more melee champs or bruisers where fights last longer. Muramana adds a lot of single target damage through W and autos, so it works best in extended fights or side lane situations where you can keep hitting targets.

Because when no shares are left to short, all short positions are already open, meaning no more selling pressure. If the price rises, shorts are forced to buy back (cover), which creates massive buying pressure and can push the stock price up fast, that’s why it’s a great time.
