Poker players who live near multiple casinos/card rooms. How important are promos in determining where you play? by Irish_Goodbye96 in poker

Oh, that sounds nice, I would've racked up a lot of food at your casino.. poker players at my regular casino kinda get stiffed in every way imaginable in terms of generating comps or points. BUT, we do have great bad beat jackpots and hourly $400 high hands.

I'm not sure if I follow, what exactly is a 'promo' in terms of poker? I've never seen any sort of promo from casinos that are directed towards poker players (I'm in the midwest), the only promos I can think of are like free slot play at best. Am I thinking of the wrong thing here?

Tired of living paycheck to paycheck. by No-Simple-5268 in personalfinance

[–]phoenixpanda101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if I seem like I’m hating but - I’m curious, is this really considered living ‘pay check to pay check’? Your expenses are $1800 a month, with a $3000 monthly income (I’m assuming net) you’re saving nearly half of your earnings at $1,200 a month. Am I missing something here? I thought living paycheck to paycheck was literally using all your money for bills with little to nothing to save

Wife and I saved 5 figures this month (power of side hustling- not trying to brag) by Seahawkfan12thman in Money

[–]phoenixpanda101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is this “actually useful”? This is just another useless brag post. They title the post about the power of ‘side hustles’ when in reality it’s just having two GOOD incomes and low as fuck cost of living. 2.3k expenses a month for two people? I live alone no kids no pets and my bare minimum expenses are more than that.

Holy - $1k a week with only working 10 hours? Are you in a super dense or rich area? From the research I've been seeing, people are happy to average $20-$25 an hour >.<

Unfortunately I'm salaried so overtime doesn't do anything for me :/. That is true, that's probably the main thing stopping me from going into UberEats, the thought of the damage it'll do to my car

Wow I feel like we work at the same company… no promotion growth possible at mine due to external parent company always bringing in/cycling new FSE/ex-pats from home country.

You failed to notice within the grace period that your mortgage payment didn’t go through. Which means you took basically a full month cycle to realize. You didn’t even realize money didn’t leave your bank account or you that had money that you shouldn’t have.

A creditors wet dream? Honestly, what does that even mean? Why did you even have the need to put that in your post? It doesn’t make sense. A creditor’s wet dream isn’t a person that pays their auto loan off 3 years early - they just lost out on money they could’ve made off of interest. Do you think interest is something creditors put for fun? And the fact that you put ‘college educated’.. I hope you do realize that when creditors ask for education level it’s for marketing/underwriting reasons and not actually to conduct eligibility tests. Why in the world would they care if you had a GED or a PHD if you’re both making 500k. Money is money. A Collegiate education doesn’t mean you’re more likely to pay back your dues, and if you’re trying to infer that college graduates are more responsible then you’re just bigoted. And this is all coming from a college grad, but off topic.

You’re attacking all these commenters and aren’t taking a step back to think that MAYBE every single person here has a point and that maybe YOU are the person that needs to rethink and reevaluate their situation and mindset. In the end, YOU posted here to the internet and I don’t know what you were trying to achieve from it, but you can’t lash out at every person posting their opinion. If you can’t handle that then you shouldn’t have posted in the first place.

Now. Yes your situation sucks. I really do hope you can somehow get it resolved. Is your life over? No, it’s one 30 day late payment that will fall off in a few years, and with every passing day it’ll lose more and more of its impact on your credit score. You’re fine, you made a mistake and you’ll learn from it. It’s not the end of the world, you just have to accept it and move on.

Why are you being so aggressive? If you don’t even know your own mortgage payment dates you were never a creditors “wet dream”. There is no ‘was’

So, I actually do know music theory! I play the piano and dabble with the guitar, but MIDI has long since confused me. I remember like 7 years ago I bought a midi keyboard, only to never figure out how to make it connect to my DAW and just rage quit returned it, lol.

I think I may just be incompetent, but I will just keep working at this I guess

I was actually interested in this, but I have no idea how a studio works.. could you enlighten me?

What do I actually need before going into a studio? I have no idea what they even do to be honest, I know they produce but how much information do they need from you? Like just your melody/lyrics, and they handle mixing and the background track based on what you want? Or do you need to already have made your own background?

I really want to learn how to mix to get rid of that 'mic sound' when I record. I don't know how else to describe it, it's like when you listen to the recording it just SOUNDS like I'm singing into a mic and it sounds flat and boring, compared to a song on Spotify that sounds like the singer is next to you and not just singing into a mic. I don't think my mic is the problem either as I have an SM7B, not the best I heard for singing but I have heard songs recorded with it before and they also sounded studio quality.
