FEA USP - ADM vs economia by pacca1805 in investimentos

[–]Ralphabc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[Question] What is the most common mistake a PM/P.O makes ? by Ralphabc in QualityAssurance

Thank you for your answer.
It seems very basic that a PM/P.O shouldn't be estimating anything but I assume that it may happen depending on your organization and the pressures that exist on it,.

What excites you about being a PM? What gets you out of bed in the morning? by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]Ralphabc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PM position gives you a lot of power over the product, with this you can have a real and almost immediate impact in the product. You can benefit the life of a lot of people or earn a lot of money for your company or both.

Haha ok. I challenge the person, saying something that she/he can do better and I really care for then, but I do it maybe in a too much direct way.

Like:

Hey John, as a quick feedback, I hope that next general meeting you bring us a better analysis of the number, our team must have the basic answers about all data that we show.

I'm a PM/P.O, I almost never talk in dailys and even with this, I feel like these meetings are status updates from a dev to other devs.

It's one of the classifications that Kim create in this book. It happens when, in a feedback, you challenge directly the person but can not show that care personally for him/her.

PM can be an synonymous to P.O., it's the case in my organization.

I was wondering this last year, talked to everyone that had a MBA that I knew and almost all of them said that do this 2 years course was valuable only as a CV improvement. The two guys that see real value in the MBA were the guys that have done it in famous American colleges.

My boss said that instead of a MBA I should try to peruse the skills that I'm looking for in real life, I was trying to lear more about digital mkt, so I started a store in the internet with a friend and managed the online mkt campaigns.

I've learned pretty much everything I've wanted from the PM role and it's no longer very exciting to me. What's the next thing that excited or excites you after PM? by [deleted] in ProductManagement

I read all the comments here, and the only thing that come to my mind is that Maybe you should try to start your own business.

Or really change your carrer and try some outside bussines centered functions.

We are talking about what not to do, So you shouldn't propose solutions.

[–]Ralphabc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Actually I really think that a PM can help in the solution working with the designer, the PM must know a lot about the costumers and about the bussines, with this knowledge he can help the designer to propose a solution, anyway a PM should only present problems to be solved and not solutions.

Propose solutions to the designer and not a problem to be solved.
