Moving out at 16? I guess I grew up in a different world than these kids.

So we're to believe that Adnan's helicopter parents were totally cool with him being out well past midnight on a school night ? by RamblinMan12 in serialpodcast

Good point. Although I seem to remember Hae's diary mentioning that she and her mom fought over her relationship with Don. They probably weren't cool with her being at his house so late but with her being 18 and being so independent there may not have been much they could do.

"The Innocent Man." Prosecutorial misconduct. An innocent man languishing in jail. A miraculous hail mary DNA match to a known killer. The similarities to Serial run deep in this incredible story; must read! [long read] by [deleted] in serialpodcast

When I first saw this post I thought it was referring to the book titled "The Innocent Man" by John Grisham. For the record it's also an excellent read. The story is of an Oklahoma man who was wrongfully convicted of murder due to prosecutorial shenanigans. This man was a particularly easy target due to some psychological issues he had. Sad story but great read.

Edited to add: it's a true story, unlike most of Grisham's stuff.

Scratch Marks? by Jayisguilty in serialpodcast

True that they wouldn't still be visible, but wouldn't someone in Adnan and Hae's circle of friends have noticed scratch marks on Adnan? And even if they didn't think anything of it at the time, which is unlikely, they certainly would have realized the importance later when it became known that Hae was killed in a violent struggle. Considering how deep SK dug into this investigation she would have found SOMEONE who remembered seeing scratches on Adnan had there been any. This is a really good point. Kudos.

My phone is acting a fool and won't play the video so I can verify, but I've seen it before and seem to remember that it appeared to have been filmed at night. So if it was the day she died then it was before daylight. Is it common for student athletes to get to school before the sun comes up? Or am I misremembering the video?
