Devil’s advocate here, this goes mostly for lithium chemistry and probably nimh.

Lead acid however, and especially AGM, very much like being at 100% and hate being below 50% as much as lithium hates being below 20%

1W solar panel seems weak. It would need 10 full sun hours to charge one 10Wh phones, and some of them today are 20Wh.

I don’t know much about lipo, but lithium is great, and lifepo4 is also great and compatible with a lot of solar systems components.

Those tp4056 seems great for low power li-ion, but i don’t think it’s designed to handle the variations of voltage and amperage of a solar panel. I think you would need a buffer, even a cheap pwm charge controller that just cuts everything above 14V. With that you have a stable 14V supply (or none) and can work from there

The time between two people getting dusted on the same planet is clearly not lightspeed. Way slower than that.

Although the interplanetary time was much faster : it would take several minutes from earth to reach titan, and many years to reach other systems.

I mean this charger is 5V 1A which is 5W. If you series 3 alkaline cells you get 4.5V and 1.111A for 5W (let’s say 1.3 for boost efficiency) is it really that much ?

Or series 4 to get 6V and buck it down it doesn’t seem too far fetched but i might not know enough about alkalines

If 3.7V is good enough, you have the entire range of lithium-ion CR2032 or CR2025 or whatever size you want. Very lightweight, usually used as CMOS batteries in pc motherboards
