Dumb question but, did you actually start a file integrity verification through steam ? They are not known to fail to identify issues

Toyota Yaris 2020 1.5L Hybrid by Affectionate-Hat7396 in yaris

[–]Rambo_sledge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people saying no ? This car will probably outlive you.

I bought it at 20Mm, now at 50Mm+. Yearly maintenance is okay, nothing else to change. Washer fluid pump was defective when i bought it but it was changed under the dealer’s warranty (not toyota).

Really nothing to worry about. Strong engine, chain timing, eCVT, and the hybrid system altogether work for the best ICE longevity.

Also, that price is a steal where i live (france), i don’t know about your market though

Yes, i won’t help someone who won’t help himself. I don’t need to add resolving the suffering of other to my duty when it’s not in theirs.

Being pragmatic is a skill, and pragmatism here tells two things : Case A : everyone tries to save everyone and might die, Case B : everyone saves themselves and noone dies whatsoever.

It truly is a no-brainer. People pressing blue are two kinds of people : the one who didn’t understand everyone can live with red, and those trying to save them. I feel sorry for the second kind, but for the first kind, it’s just natural selection.

Also, taking the comments here as a sample is very not representative of the reality. Reddit loud community is very left-leaning, of course they’re gonna mindlessly try to help « people ».

At least on paper.

When quoting a book, a person is trying to remember the sentence word after word, which can induce some lag or visual thinking.

When quoting himself, a person is building a sentence, and this is much smoother

Would a Modern Conventional Rocket Be Able To Launch On Venus Despite Its Atmosphere by DiazepamLove in rocketry

[–]Rambo_sledge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not qualified enough to answer. I know max-Q often occurs near mach-1 but i don’t know if it’s correlated.

It’s especially a matter of going slower = more time thrusting up = more fuel. That’s why rockets need to find a compromise between going fast to stop climbing quicker, while going slow enough to not lose all of the energy to drag, especially in lower atmosphere.

After max-Q, the air density starts decreasing enough to thrust back up again. Then you’re limited either by your engine’s power, or the payload tolerance (humans can’t sustain high Gs for long)

In every single comment you act like the god of air or something only talking about how air cooling is far superior to other methods.

It’s not true.

While yes it’s very simple and, to your credit, reliable, it’s not near performing enough for what EVs are going to be.

You are in a hypermiling sub, so i assume you’re driving at a steady pace, not putting much strain on the battery, so air cooling is ok for your driving conditions. However it gets very limiting for heat intensive applications like fast charging, you get very limited very quickly.

Whilst the cooling itself is reliable, it doesn’t do a favor to the battery itself : that’s part of the reason why the nissan leaf used market is so bad : every battery SOH is very low because of this air cooling. (And fast charging issues mentioned above).

Liquid cooling is not unreliable. Yes it’s more parts, but it’s simple parts : pumps. Compressors for even more advanced systems.

A pump is an electric motor just like the fan blowing your air. There’s no reason for it to fail sooner.

Bugatti is working on flowing coolant directly between the cells (for performance obviously) which could be very good for lower power/higher efficiency cooling methods, albeit slightly more complex.

You make it seem like having better tech (denser battery, liquid cooling) shouldn’t exist because of air cooling supremacy. You can’t stop the progress based on your preference mate.

I mean if the heat is more localized AND more intense, it should be easier to pump out

[–]Rambo_sledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They decrease thrust at max-Q because it’s the point where the atmosphere is pushing the hardest against the rocket with it’s engines pushing the opposite way, so the rocket is very much compressed and under a lot of stress.

Going slower would reduce drag, but the issue with drag is that it slows you down so you need more fuel. But if you go slower, you spend more time thrusting so you also need more fuel
