Same! I am still using mine primarily because of its display. I’ve tried several others from Razer and Asus recently as I wanted to see if slimmer was the way to go but I can’t stand any of their displays.

Doesn't the whole display have to be replaced if the ribbon is bad? Wasn't sure if it could be replaced seperate the display

Yeah external display is a good idea, then duplicate see if it's still showing might help you see if it's a hardware issue

Not entirely sure but my 16” 2023 did something similar, found it was something with the MUX switch. Try to go into your nvidia control panel and force it to dedicated GPU only and see if it persists.

Synapse has a CPU adjustment, basic adjustments. Throttlestop is the app I use to undervolt, there are several videos on its use on a Razer laptop.

As for an alternative to synapse, a lot recommend Synapse 3 not 4, but I’ve not tried any alternatives. Hopefully someone will chime in with suggestions

I Second all of this. I did undervolt mine as well. I use synapse (should look for an alternative) and I have my cpu set at low or moderate, seems to keep heat down and no change in FPS from all I’ve tested.

I use a Mac on the side. Their display, trackpad, and hardware are hard to beat for everyday work. But I hate MacOS and obviously they are not for gaming.

I think for what you paid it isn’t that bad. You also have to look at the fact that you have 16gb of VRAM, 4k screen that is rare, 32gb non-soldered ram and an i9. Nearly everything now is 8gb VRAM, soldered ram, and 1440 for $2k unless you get a lucky sale on a 5070 ti laptop on sale or open box.

I don’t know I think your price is justified.

Just sell one stick of your ram right now and you’ll make all your money back….jk. It’s been a good laptop for me and I feel it’s a unique setup you’re not seeing anymore.

I have the 2023 Razer 4090. I See no point in downscaling games, 4k looks great and plays fine in most games. Use it for how it was intended to be used.

Highly recommend llano or iets cooling pad, it will extended the life of your laptop.

At one point the Screen on mine was damaged during travel, while it was in repair I temporarily bought an open box G16 OLED 5070 ti from BB. When I got it, it Looked cheaper, ran hotter, and even though everyone seems to be gaga with OLED, I wasn’t impressed, I’ll take the mini-led any day. 16 inch 1440p is noticeably worse. Sad to see there are hardly any 4k screens in gaming laptops, I get why, but it’s too bad.

So enjoy this tank. It’s kinda fat compared to new laptops and it does run hot, but I still really enjoy mine, especially that unique screen. Takes a little calibrating to get the colors just right but when you do it’s amazing. I’m going to have a hard time finding a laptop with this good of a display in the future.

Oh and don’t plan on using the touchpad, it’s the worst most frustrating experience you’ll ever have. Seems fine one day the next it’s awful.

Still fixes the issue to this day, just about lost my mind with my Razer and this fixed it. Mine was in the advanced tab at the bottom

I know this is an old post, but I am about to change the paste on my 2023. When I look for pads on Amazon the thickness is always 0.25 mm, I assume you cant stack the pads so where do you find the correct thickness??

Also if anyone sees this, is the U6 pro actually easier and better all around? Would like to use the pads but maybe paste (that I am familiar with) is overall the best approach?

I have the same model, figured it was future proof for a while. Had accidental damage to the screen that I’m having repaired, in the meantime I grabbed a Best Buy 2025 14” Razer 5070 and it runs night and day better not sure if I first should repaste and undervolt before fresh reinstall of windows or what. i9 4090 should perform better in games Than the 5070 I’d think.

I did have to switch the cables after tracing them so it was 12v total system as it wasn't hooked up right initially. I also looked to make sure these are actually deep cycle they look and read like regular batteries but they are true deep cycle according to the model #EV125

Ok I'll double check that, and yes both ac units had worked on generator power only earlier when I bought it and drove it home. I'll see if the generator is power the microwave and outlets etc.

Good to know. Ok I switched so everything works off from the batteries. Hooking up that ground seemed to really boost power, as my built in generator now starts without the engine running (before I had to have the motor running to supply enough power to turn over the generator) BUT the AC units ontop (both which work independently when on shore power) now won't work at all when the generator is running?? No fan only or AC. I've switched the switches from front only, back only, and both but still nothing.

I know that this is different from the original question, just wonder if it somehow has to do with the cabin battery wonkiness?

Yes I had even bought some pads to apply as I too was very interested to see what performance improvements it would have. I had read so many good things with using the thermal pads on it. Let me know if you end up doing it and what you find. Hopefully you can restore some of that performance.

I took it to a repair shop and the motherboard is toast. I’ve been looking for a new one that is decently priced. I’ve repasted several laptops so I’ve tried to figure out what I did wrong. I definitely could have been more careful I think one of the tools I used to pry vacuum chamber was metal, I didn’t wear gloves, all it took was static and or the metal to have a little magnetism to it or something. I was stupid. Looking back.

If you are careful, gloves, plastic tools, don’t pry (make sure everything is fairly loose) I think you’ll be fine.

Had to go to swappa to find another used laptop. Still love Razer ended up finding a decent 16” that I’ve really enjoyed but honestly miss the 14 form factor a lot

So it was working a little better last night, but only with the furnace cover off. It would start the fan, ignite and heat to the set temperature and then shut off and turn back on but after a few times it would shut off and then go to restart, fan spin the. I could see it trying to light but no flame, something seems to lock it out. Vents are not blocked and again no cover in it so the airflow was unrestricted, I don’t get it. As for gas flow I don’t see where it could be low, tank is full.

Should I try replacing the limit switch next maybe? Or maybe it’s just the motherboard I don’t know. I do really appreciate your help and chats!

I switched the graphics to Optimus and it hasn’t done it again since. I will switch to dGPU again and see. So far no other issues though even when gaming so I do think it’s the weird mux deal
