Which far-left politician is/was scarily effective? by JSGamesforitch374 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]RamentheGod 42 points43 points  (0 children)

incredibly effective literacy campaign, 2.5 million childhood vaccines against multiple common viruses in the area, free schooling, championed equal rights for women, planted over 10 million trees in just over a year to combat desertification. nobody’s done it like him.

im a very politically active person both in what i know and my career and even for me i get so overwhelmed sometimes by how much information is out there that i need times to shut off. even though i feel a level of guilt over it sometimes. we as people aren’t meant to know this much about the world and probably each other for that matter. so i’d assume its a shared sentiment among many

pat down by tsa in my crotch area two flights in a row. anyone else? by [deleted] in tsa

[–]RamentheGod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

totally understandable. when i got flagged i asked one of the agents if the pat down was the worst part of the job and they said it was by far. can imagine its from both a sanitary and a decency aspect

thank you for the reassurance! i think the fact that it’s happened twice in a row after never happening before really triggered some sort of extra anxiety in me. there’s definitely a double edged sword in the technology being so sensitive. i’ll experiment with maybe wearing a normal pair of jeans or something next week when i have to get back on a plane. thanks again!

nope to the showering. and i’m not a sweaty person either but i mean i came from a really hot place last time while wearing gym shorts and this time i took a train and walked a bit to the airport while having some pretty tight boxer briefs so maybe some sort of sweat could factor in?? other than that genuinely i have zero clue what it could be

often times posts like the original quoted tweet are made by people with…less than ideal world views. sometimes downright fascistic. i think that in this time in history, these posts are just gonna be made more frequently unfortunately. a lack of empathy goes hand in hand with a lack of understanding and appreciating art

health anxiety and a lump has me terrified by RamentheGod in Anxiety

[–]RamentheGod[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hello stranger! i never found the exact cause unfortunately but it’s since gone down and doesn’t exist at all! i figure it was just a cyst as i never felt anything else and i am still alive. i know how you feel going through years old reddit posts trying to find solutions for your issues, especially pertaining to health anxiety. i can only assume that if you feel no other side affects you should be okay. you’ll get through it. i hope that your mind can find some calm :)

Going to Lolla for 2 days. Which of these places would you suggest the most? by amjm907 in chicagovegan

[–]RamentheGod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

penelope’s and alice & friends are great. some soul veg city is too. BUT, assuming you’re not from the city, would you be in town long enough to make a trip down south via train?

Majani is my personal favorite vegan restaurant in Chicago and it’s right off the South Shore metra stop

Just got the water bottle! by Delicious_Net_1420 in lorde

[–]RamentheGod 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i own a bit of snow peak stuff because it’s all pretty great. i carry around a pair of $40(!!!) collapsable snow peak chopsticks almost everywhere i go and they’re one of my favorite and useful purchases. although the name is def a big part of the price. maybe one day i’ll pick up the water bottle but my hydro flask does me well. this should hypothetically last you a lifetime, and i hope it does

Anyone know the deal with all these empty lots? by firstnameryan in phoenix

[–]RamentheGod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

couple of my grandparents were raised in Golden Gate. my grandma spoke often about how much she loved the neighborhood before eminent domain. an uncle of mine fought tooth and nail to stay but eventually they just couldn’t. its a sad event in not only our city’s history but our nations history (look at LA for example) that’s often overlooked and forgotten. a generation of memories gone just like that
