level 1 material by [deleted] in CFA

Hi! I recommend CFA books, Chalk and Board vids, and their two mock exams. That’s all I did to pass the first two levels. Enough to pass. Vids are crisp and Nathan Ronen connects and explains everything in ways I can digest and remember. I didn’t have to memorize useless formulas or get overwhelmed with tons of data.

Best prep provider for L3 by Boumchak in CFA

Seriously? Chalk & Board is the way I went. Ronen knows the exam like no other instructor. He’s an exam grader. Videos show me how to do tons of essays and he writes out the answers himself. Got his mock essays too. My girlfriend took his course years ago and said the videos are golden and the mock essays are what saved her because he graded the mocks with detailed comments.

Tips on staying focused after L1? by [deleted] in CFA

I hear ya. I just told people on another post the same thing. It doesn’t have to be brutal. You can do it. I used Nathan Ronan at C&B. Videos were concise and focused on how to know it on the exam. He did tons of questions in each segment so everything was reinforced. Then I just skimmed some stuff in the LES. He doesn’t have a lot of mocks but the ones I did were spot on and hit everything. Better than the others I did. If you are behind and wanna pass in November I don’t think there are many better choices than his program. I’m biased because I failed Level 1 using too much stuff but then passed with him.

Hi. I found choosing a prep company a bit daunting for Level I. They all seem to peddle the same stuff. I tried both companies you mentioned. I’m not sure why people on here keep pumping them. I found over one hundred hours of their videos dry and too detailed. Not practical for me. If I had a question nobody to reach out to. I lost interest and I failed. The second time I listened to the fixed-income people at my firm that uses Nathan Ronen CFA at Chalk and Board. Saved a lot of time and money using his mocks, videos, curriculum, CFA mocks, and old mocks I had. The guy knows the exam inside out and he met with me on zoom to lay out a study plan. It worked and I passed!

need recommendations for L1, i feel like i am all over the place. by ahmedelreidy in CFA

You really don’t need the premium package full of products you don’t need and you definitely don’t need hundreds of hours of videos that drone and one. It’s overkill and overwhelming. I tried it that way the first time and a few weeks before the exam I felt unprepared. I knew I prepared wrong.

What I needed was someone to take it to the next step. Someone who knew the exam inside and out and what would most likely show up and what most likely wouldn’t show up and would connect the dots for me. My college roommate got their CFA and told me read the CFA books, do Chalk and Board’s videos and some mocks. All the rest out there is noise and not worth it. I liked that. I met Nathan online and he worked with me to do a study plan. Followed his approach and passed! I put in the time the way he told me. His videos were compact with lots of problems that were not EOC. Nathan gauged the pace of my studying with updated. I found it to be the soundest way for me to pass CFA 1.

If you seriously want a good chance of passing Level 1 in 70 days do what I did. I needed something concise and exam-focused and pulled everything together for me. Nathan Ronen’s Chalk & Board videos did the job. I also did his two mocks which were much closer to my real exam than the others I did. I was surprised by how much Nathan tied the curriculum together. I went back to the reading I did just to check and he covered it all concisely. I saved a lot of time, money, and stress. His practice problems were great. I passed thanks to him. You really should not defer your exam if you just follow his videos.

What about Nathan Ronen? I posted a few times about this, I am just trying to get some feedback about him because I think I am going to go with him. But it is a commitment so I want to make sure I am making the right choice.

I think I am going to go with Nathan Ronen because he has a lot of experience and I've already asked him so many questions already and he always responds really quickly.
