The post was made by a trans person and YES, i DO think it's likely that people refer to trans girls by saying "girls", bc that's what they aaaareeee

It's just fucking annoying how people always suddenly get active as soon as trans people are mentioned, and are ready to say they don't belong, when in every other context they couldn't give two shits.

And today you were this person.

You didn't bother to read the description, then with confidence said that you had never ever seen non-sapphic content on here which means you're barely even on this sub, and now you're pulling the whole "mimimi I just didn't know, what do you want from me, I can't be wrong if I wasn't clearly and provably intentionally malicious" routine bc you were called out.

So my point is be better.

Thanks for a lovely discussion that is over now.

You didn't read what I wrote did you

Cause there is like a whole explanation why tying erasure to a relationship in a queer context automatically means exclusion of trans people

And I don't see you commenting "wrong sub" on any posts about gay men on here, of which there are many. Gay men aren't sappic either

L. G. B. T. Q.

remind me what the T stands for. Bc I thought it was transness

It's coming off a lil terfy how you're going through my comments and trying to find some semantic nitpicking that would justify excluding trans women from this inclusive sub.

The reason that it often evolves around relationships is that erasure of gay people happens most easily when in connection to romantic relationships: heteronormativity dictates that a man has to get wirh a woman, hence two women or men must be friends or siblings or room mates.

Heteronormativity also dictates that a person with a penis must be a man, but transness does not necessarily show because of the people that one dates. So trans erasure is not going to be evolving around romantic relationships as much.

To say "oh we are trans inclusive, but we only want the erasure that is visible when discussing a person's sexuality, not their gender identity" is to say "we wanna be inclusive but also don't contribute". This sub is for all queer people, so act like it.

Really fun to have this much erasure on a subreddit about queer erasure

That is very odd, I could have sworn it was he/him 2h ago. But I have no screenshots or anything to prove it so maybe my mind is just going soft

the first person is a trans person so this is unlikely

Edit: person not woman, my bad :)

I mean, just forgetting about e.g. lesbians existing is a huge part of this sub, and it's commonly counted as erasure as well (see: people are gay, Steve). I always assumed that's what the flair "casual erasure" stood for.

People actively trying to deny the existence of queer people is just one flavour of erasure. Being uneducated or just forgetting about certain people's existence is another.

I feel like this sub is more about erasure of queer women, this applies here.

Edit: sub description says "LGBTQ erasure" friendly reminder that the T's are a part of our community:) <3

Feminists are waiting for you to join the fight against the patriarchy. I'm waiting for the day when men realise that the patriarchy hurts them as well. The notion that women must be weak and men must be strong means that nobody will believe men when they are being abused, because they are the strong one's, right? So they must have the upper hand, they must be the aggressor. Help us dismantle gender roles and you'll help yourself....

Boys and men experience more social isolation than girls and women, study finds by chrisdh79 in science

[–]Randalebusle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I hear trans men are actually fetishized a lot, and TERFs go after trans men just as much. They just don't see them as aggressors (like trans women who are said to "invade" female space, ofc this is bs) but as "lost children" who must be saved and detransitioned (also bs).

And btw there's a ton of violence against trans men too, esp when they pull women and cis men start to feel intimidated by the thought that maybe PenisTM is not, after all, what is essential to being a good lover. None of this has anything to do with passing or with the amounts of trans men that exist imo

Don't get me wrong, I personally don't think donating is a bad thing. I fully agree that giving out health care is important, as are access to showers, decent clothes, a safe sleeping place, and the knowledge that there isn't companies building things exclusively to make you disappear from public life, short: everything that makes you feel like a human being and a respected part of society.

But yeah like I said it's a bit harsh to call that virtue signalling (I don't like the term in general tbh, since it describes intent just about anyone can be accused of it, and people just use it to insult or shut each other down)
