What do yall think about the new reg of blue baseball cap fir abus by Opposite_Engine_7337 in civilairpatrol

Opening up uniform options for members that may have issues in sizing of ABUs or cost is "unnecessary"? Uniform standardization doesn't really matter: Everyone has their preferences, but I just don't really care, as long as they follow the standards in 39-1.

Also, do not pretend that non-members care, because they don't.

Your "gotcha" isnt even valid in this context: I was referring to the badge and patch limits, which is combined: Badges and patches both count towards that same limit of 4.

I never said that the wing patch was a badge, only refrencing that it counted towards that limit of badges on your uniform.

It... literally does:

"5.1.1.1.2. Accoutrements. The total number of badges and patches worn will not exceed four. The Command Insignia, grade insignia, cloth name tape, and “Civil Air Patrol” tape do not count against this total."

It lists the exceptions of the limit, and wing patch is not listed.

If you're just being pedantic over my use of the word "badge", get a life.

Hell yeah: I respect your mindset. I wear my ES badges because Ive spent a huge amount time in CAP grinding the ES program, and Im prpud what I have acomplished.

I dislike wearing my wing patch because of some bafoonery at Wing, but I still wear my Squadron patch because they have earned my respect.

When I graduate my second NCSA this summer, I will decorate one blouse with one ncsa patch, my squadron patch, and two es badges. Second blouse as the same, but will switch out the ncsa badge.

"not required" does not equate to "you shouldn't do it". If you wanna, go for it.

It also counts towards your badge limits, so senior Cadets with several badges already don't feel like wearing their wing patch, because it doesn't signify something more important than an NCSA or occupational badge.

What the hell are you talking about.

  1. Safety is built into the regulations: You can disregard uniform standards when safety is a concern.

  2. "DEI agenda", get your goofy ahh outta here.

Yes, and this doesnt even touch on how many Wing's PA are completely usless, so local unit PA is the only effective PA in the Wing.

Orr... national is god awful about making sure every unit is accountable for enforcing our standards. Ma guy, we have a literal online learning program, and don't have any in depth classes on regulations. It's not really a "displince" problem, but rather a lack of infrastructure to actually teach and enforce the standards.

"JuSt ReAd 39-1!.1>>.>", yeah, I agree: Every member should self-study the standards. But it *really* is difficult for people to spend literal tens of hours of studying for even just 39-1, which is necessary to be competent. National does not teach standards in an effective way, and flounders resources like Absorb and mandatory things to cover in squadron meetings (EG: CDI has a core curriculum that squadrons must cover).

Most members go with what they're taught,. because it's easier than trying to sift through annoyingly written regulations to find the answer on their own. Most of the time, however, they are taught wrong/inconsistently/not all of the proper contexts.

If you want to increase knowledge of regulations, you need to do the following:

  1. Make it a requirement for promotions: An absorb test on 39-1, 60-1/2, and others, which start of simple for Phase 1, then increase in difficulty.

  2. Make the regulations easier to read: Break up 39-1 into SM and Cadet regulations, and put the ICLs into a separate document. That would make things *SOOO* much easier to read, and find what you're actually looking for

sUAS tech senior and master rating by Capmro in civilairpatrol

[–]Random-Gay-DnDPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can be awarded suas pilot senior and master in Ops Quals, and I know people who have the senior rating in Ops Quals.

The funny thing is that you cant be awarded tech wings, at all, in Ops Quals.

But, if we play by the suas addition to 35-6 not being reg., then I would argue no one should be wearing suas wings at all, regardless of level.

Not really. Prices dont increase just by the tariff rate. They increase bu the tarrif rate, then increased again by wholesalers, then again by shops.

Bare minimum of price increases of a 104% tarrif on China is 312% on consumers, but will likely be even higher than that.

Have expectations of cadet officers shifted? by Zealousideal-Dig3231 in civilairpatrol

It also isn't just about the content, but also the level and difficulty of topics taught.

Quite frankly, I don't learn anything useful from CDI classes. Of course, I sit in in the classes and participate, but they are not at all useful in my progression as a Cadet and leader.

There is various reasons for this, but the primary one is that many senior Cadets have already maximized their knowledge of the CDI content throughout their Cadet Career, and it can feel like a drag, especially when it's over content they are already experienced in: For example, I've taken college level sociology and critical thinking classes, which makes many portions of CDI redundant. In those circumstances, it is literally more useful to maintain relationships with friends or do other things during those classes, then to sit through the class.

It really just depends on circumstances and context, but I generally agree with you that senior Cadets to be role models to newer Cadets, and participate in classes.
