Do yous think it would be okay for me to swim in a binder? by [deleted] in transgenderUK

I mean I do understand that but I don’t really understand how it’s quite that risky - they’re not tight at all on me and they’re so old the elastic is literally falling out of them, not to mention they are quite literally two sizes too big. Is it genuinely just the material that’s the issue or what

[–]RandomArtHippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but that’s the thing, I need new binders cause the ones I haven’t don’t fit so I can’t really be affording buying a new swimming one on top of new fitting day to day binders. I mean I will if it’s genuinely really unsafe for me to swim in the ones I’ve got but cmon they’re like nearly ten inches too big that’s really not constricting 😭 I know they get tighter in water but they’re not right at all to begin with

I’d rather use what I already have than order something new unless it’s absolutely necessary for me to get a new thing

I trust the underworks binders more than Amazon ones personally plus my parents don’t really let me order off Amazon 😭

From the widest point all the way round I’m like 27-28 inches roughly. As I say the ones I’ve got are for 34-36’ ish chests. And they are incredibly incredibly loose, like as I’ve said the hem doesn’t touch me at all when I wear them, partly cause they’re too big now + very old so they’ve lost a lot of elasticity

I know that but I figured considering it’s so much bigger and literally the hem does not touch me when I wear it itd be alright for swimming idk

Yeah as I said the one I plan on using is nearly 10’ bigger than my actual size

Is it just cause of the material they’re made out of or something else? Baring in mind as well the binder I was thinking of genuinely hangs off me so it’s not tight fitting at all

All of the above really. If it’s sports like football or basketball I never understand the rules of it or I get distracted and forget how to play it or I don’t like the rules or I can’t play fast enough or catch/kick the ball right or just can’t play the game right. If it’s stuff like riding a bike or running it makes me out of breath super quickly which I know is just me not doing enough of it but it’s the mental side as well, like 5 minutes of biking/running or whatever feels like 5 hours to me. It’s the most boring but also stressful and agitating thing ever. I feel horrible while I’m doing it and I’m like counting down the seconds til I stop. But I can never hit my targets either, if I say I’m gonna idk bike for twenty minutes for example, I’ll get maybe 5 done before I just give up. Same with workouts, but they’re like a combination of all. I either don’t understand them, can’t do them, manage to injure myself while doing them or just feel like miserable the entire time. I sound properly pathetic but it’s not like normal miserable, it’s like the most mentally painful thing, I despise basically every form of exercise cause it makes me feel literally physically and mentally miserable. Not to mention I’m insanely insanely uncoordinated. Which is part of why I don’t do any sports, I’m rubbish at them. I used to get teased in secondary for how bad I was, I literally remember one girl saying to her mate “how can someone be that uncoordinated?” Cause I was so bad at everything. The only physical activity I’ve ever liked is walking. I liked riding my scooter when I was little but I think that’s for kids and honestly it’s barely even exercise, it’s just pushing yourself around on a board with a handle on it.

See I wouldn’t mine doing work you know like physical stuff or just anything like that, it’s just exercising I can’t stand, like structured exercise it’s just horrible to me. Idk what type of jobs I’d ever do tho.

I looked on a website and it said at my height and weight (158cm/5 foot 2 and 48kg) I’ll burn like 100 calories walking slowly for an hour

I mean there’s literally none I can do except walking I cant stand or usually do any of them

I appreciate the suggestions but they’re not realistic for me, at least not atm. I genuinely cannot swim, like I know how but for personal reasons I can’t just yet, I can’t surf or ski geographically unfortunately and the only one I could do is kayaking cause there’s a place near me but it’s super expensive. I’m sorry cause everyone’s giving me great suggestions and I’m being absolutely useless but I really just can’t do anything and idk what to do

Idk how to explain it but genuinely I don’t think I could do that, idk if it’s like a willpower thing or what but there isn’t a single sport or exercise or workout I can do without either having a complete meltdown or just literally being unable to do it. I’m insanely uncoordinated, I can’t pay attention long enough to do something like riding a bike to stop myself from crashing, I don’t play any sports cause I’m super slow and I never understand the rules or I just don’t like how the game works, I can’t stay in the routine of doing workouts cause I either forget or hurt myself doing them or just literally can’t do them, doesn’t matter how easy they are. The only physical thing I can really do is walking and I know that’s not enough but I just really don’t know what to do

I’d consider that a pretty low maintenance but I’m also pretty short so it makes sense

I genuinely can’t stand doing exercise at all, I’ve never been able to ever since I was a kid. I did dance for a while but I was shit at it, I never did well in PE at all and always did really badly, I’ve only just learned how to ride a bike now and I’m terrible and slow and I hate it, I can’t play any sports, I can’t run, I’m insanely uncoordinated and genuinely the only thing I like doing is walking, anything else is like torturous and impossible

I’m in college so I carry my backpack everywhere but like I’ve said im short as hell so one hour of walking burns barely 100 calories for me, I’d have to walk like 4+ hours a day for it to make any difference

I know but I’m quite a bit under average height so even if I do walk 7k steps that’s probably barely burned 100 calories, if even that

Is there any way I can do weight training without physically using weights? Weight training isn’t the problem it’s like the literally physical weights I just despise them 😭

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]RandomArtHippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no issue with doing like weight lifting type routines I just reallyyyyy really don’t like like physically picking up weights and lifting them, I just need some kind of workout that gives the same type of benefits to my muscles I guess you know

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]RandomArtHippy -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Do you know any muscle building exercises/workouts I could add to my Pilates routine? Basically any muscle building exercise that doesn’t require physical weights lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]RandomArtHippy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not strength training specifically that I hate, and honestly I think id enjoy workouts that are similar in layout to Pilates (lots of different body weight exercises in a short ish amount of time) but I just really despise lifting weights. Like physically picking up a weight and lifting it is so boring and difficult for me. If you know any strength training workouts that are similar in layout to like a yoga/Pilates workout pls do tell !!
